Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said for the past several years, the International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav is also being celebrated abroad. In this series, this time, the Mahotsav will be celebrated in Bali, Indonesia, from September 12 to 14.
The Chief Minister was addressing intellectuals at the Krishna-Kashyap Kurukshetra Thirthatan Dharmayatra organized at the Gita Gyan Sansthanam in Kurukshetra. The event was presided over by Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj. The Chief Minister formally began the ceremony with Gita poojan.
He said the Kashmiri Hindu Prakosth is working to preserve and promote its rich culture. Youth must be brought forward in this direction so that they remain connected with their traditions and take them further. This conference preserves the glorious heritage of Kashmir, which is deeply connected with the soul of India.
The Chief Minister said Kashmir has endured many displacements, yet Kashmiri Hindus never abandoned their karma. In 1990, lakhs of Kashmiri Hindus were displaced, but their knowledge and determination established them on the global stage, showcasing their strength.
Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi understood the pain of Kashmiri Hindus and has created unprecedented schemes for the displaced. Under his leadership, the Central Government has taken many important steps for their rehabilitation.
He said the spiritual bond between Kashmir and Kurukshetra is a symbol of India’s cultural unity. He added that Prime Minister Modi fulfilled the dream of ‘Akhand Bharat’ by abrogating Article 370 and Section 35-A, through which Kashmiri women also received property rights.
In Haryana, efforts are being made for education reservations and heritage preservation for displaced Kashmiri families. Nearly 2 lakh Kashmiris are living in Haryana and contributing to development.He congratulated the Kashmiri Hindu Prakosth, Haryana, for organizing this programme and said through Swami Gyananand Maharaj’s efforts, the Gita Gyan Sansthanam is spreading the message of the Gita across the world.
The Chief Minister said the philosophy of Nishkam Karma (selfless action) from the Gita inspires India to become a developed nation by 2047. He expressed hope that the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Hindus will be achieved and the tradition of knowledge will once again flourish.
Kashmir’s spiritual and cultural connection with Kurukshetra is strong
Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj said that Kashmiris, by coming to Kurukshetra, have deepened their spiritual and cultural connection with it. Now, under the banner of Shri Krishan Kripa Seva Samiti, a large-scale Gita Mahotsav will be organized in Srinagar.
The geographical and spiritual identity of Kashmir is great, he said, adding that efforts are being made to restore Kashmir’s spiritual identity. With courageous steps, the path for permanent peace in Kashmir has been paved.The programme was attended by former Minister Sh. Subhash Sudha, CM’s OSD Sh. Raj Nehru, Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Somnath Sachdeva, along with other dignitaries.
