On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Fazilka Deputy Commissioner  Amarpreeet Kaur Sandhu visited the Sadhki Border post and personally tied rakhis to the brave soldiers of the Border Security Force (BSF) guarding the India-Pakistan border. She was accompanied by SDM Veerpal Kaur. While tying rakhis, Deputy Commissioner Amarpreeet Kaur Sandhu told the soldiers that the entire nation salutes their contribution towards ensuring the safety of the country’s brothers and sisters.

She said, “Raksha Bandhan is not merely a festival of love between brothers and sisters, but a symbol of trust, commitment, and the promise of protection. Today, by tying this rakhi on the wrists of my brave brothers, I pray that they always remain safe and continue to lead in the service of our nation’s security.”

The Deputy Commissioner further remarked that soldiers posted on the border protect the nation while staying away from their families, and it is our duty to express gratitude and respect towards them. She added that the true essence of Raksha Bandhan lies in the vow to protect one another, and BSF jawans fulfill this vow every day by putting their lives at risk.

SDM Ms. Veerpal Kaur also shared Raksha Bandhan greetings with the soldiers and said that their sacrifices and dedication will always be remembered. On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also presented sweets to the BSF personnel.

BSF officers expressed their gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner and the SDM, stating that such emotional gestures make them feel connected to their families and boost their morale. Senior BSF officers Mr. Ajay Kumar Shriram and Mr. Vinod Kumar were also present during the event.
