A Meeting was held between Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, MLA of Vidhan Sabha constituency South, and Gulpreet Singh Aulakh, Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation. In this meeting, discussions were held regarding various development works to be undertaken in the areas of the South constituency.

During the meeting, the MLA discussed in detail the issues of cleanliness in the area, desilting of sewerage, civil patchwork and road repair, maintenance of street lights, and matters related to the Estate Department. The MLA urged the concerned departments to take immediate action for resolving the problems faced by the residents of the area.

Present at the meeting were: Supervising Engineer Sandeep Singh, Health Officer Dr. Yogesh Arora, Executive Engineers Manjeet Singh, S.P. Singh, MTP Narinder Sharma, ATPs Wazir Raj and Raman Sharma, Estate Officer Dharminderjit Singh, Advertisement Superintendent Pushpinder Singh, along with SDOs and JEs.

Commissioner Gulpreet Singh stated that the Amritsar Municipal Corporation has floated various tenders under different heads for development works in all assembly constituencies of the city, and the works will commence shortly. Regarding cleanliness in the South constituency, the Commissioner said that the Health Department is carrying out regular cleaning of streets and lanes and that garbage collection is also being done regularly. 

For desilting, he mentioned that the corporation currently has 13 jetting and super sucker machines, out of which 2 machines each have been allocated to every assembly constituency, with 3 machines kept on standby for emergency use. Additionally, desilting work tenders worth ₹35 lakh have been floated to address drainage issues in the area.

For road patchwork, chamber work, and other civil works, tenders have also been issued. Furthermore, for the maintenance of street lights, separate tenders worth ₹50 lakh have been floated. The Commissioner assured that no stone would be left unturned in the development of the city, and there will be no shortage of funds for development activities.
