The Chandigarh Administration is set to actively participate in the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign starting from August 2 to 15, 2025, as part of the broader celebrations commemorating India's 79th Independence Day. The initiative aims to encourage citizens to hoist the National Flag at their homes, thereby strengthening the spirit of patriotism and unity.

In a high-level coordination meeting chaired by Sh. Rajeev Verma, Chief Secretary, Chandigarh Administration, detailed plans were finalized to ensure impactful implementation of the campaign across the Union Territory. Senior officials from all relevant departments attended the meeting to align interdepartmental efforts.

The Administration has outlined a series of initiatives to engage residents and institutions in this national movement:

Government buildings, educational institutions, and public spaces will be adorned with Tiranga-themed installations and visuals.

Exhibitions curated by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, will be showcased at 79 locations, including prominent schools and colleges.

A variety of programs, including patriotic rallies, concerts, competitions, and thematic workshops, will be organized to foster active community involvement.

Citizens are encouraged to upload selfies with the National Flag on the official campaign website www.harghartiranga.com, promoting virtual participation and awareness.

Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Rajeev Verma, Chief Secretary, emphasized: “The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is a collective expression of our national pride. The Administration is committed to ensuring enthusiastic participation from every household in Chandigarh, symbolizing our unity in diversity.”

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda, Director General of Police; Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Home Secretary; Sh. Diprava Lakhra, Finance Secretary; Ms. Prerna Puri, Secretary Education; Sh. Amit Kumar, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation; Sh. Swapnil M. Naik, Secretary Hospitality; Sh. Ajay Chagti, Secretary Health; Sh. Abhijit Vijay Chaudhari; Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Sh. Hari Kallikkat, Secretary I.T.; Sh. Pradeep Kumar, Special Commissioner, Municipal Corporation along with other senior officers of the Chandigarh Administration.

The Chandigarh Administration urges all citizens to wholeheartedly support the campaign by hoisting the National Flag at their homes and actively participating in local events, thus contributing to a memorable and unifying celebration of India’s Independence.
