Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi's vision is to ensure rapid and inclusive development of every district and block of the country. It is a special mission and a people’s movement. The mission is committed to empowering every citizen and ensuring that no district or block is left behind in development.
The Chief Minister said this while addressing officers and employees at the State-Level ‘Sampooranta Abhiyan Samman Samaroh’ held today at Haryana Niwas in Chandigarh under the Aspirational District and Block Programme.
He said the Aspirational District and Block Programme was launched in 2018 under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. The programme focuses on key areas such as health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial services and basic infrastructure. It is a comprehensive approach where everyone works together to build a strong, prosperous and equitable India.
He said the results of this campaign are now becoming visible. Everyone must work collectively on the important indicators provided by NITI Aayog to ensure 100% implementation so that the outcomes are reflected on the ground. This campaign is helping realize the Prime Minister’s vision and meet public expectations.
The Chief Minister said after achieving the goals set under the Aspirational District and Block Programme, the verification of the work should also be conducted with proper reporting to ensure accuracy in the implementation of projects at the ground level.
He noted that positive outcomes are being seen in the Nuh (Mewat) region after the launch of this programme by the Prime Minister. He instructed officials and employees to achieve 100% of the targets set annually by NITI Aayog within the given timeframe. He also congratulated them for their commendable work.
Sh. Saini directed officials to encourage farmers in these districts to take up horticulture and offer them new options in this sector. Additionally, he asked for the simplification of the Soil Health Card scheme and to ensure that farmers receive complete information about it.
He instructed the Director of the Agriculture Department to create a social media account for the department and share interviews of progressive farmers or those doing notable work in agriculture to raise awareness among others. On this occasion, Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi extended a warm welcome to the Chief Minister and provided an overview of the Aspirational District Programme.
He said the initiative was launched by the Prime Minister in 2018 with the aim of bridging the development gap between backward and developed districts, thereby ensuring balanced and inclusive growth across the country. Under this programme, 115 districts were selected from over 800 districts nationwide, based on various developmental parameters.
To further strengthen this initiative, the Aspirational Block Programme was later introduced under this scheme, enabling development of these regions in their entirety (sampooranta). During the event, Deputy Commissioners of Nuh, Charkhi Dadri, Bhiwani, and Rewari districts presented progress reports on the work done under the Aspirational District and Block Programme.
The Chief Minister honoured 26 officers and employees for their excellent work under the programme by awarding them certificates of appreciation. The event was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, Director General of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department Sh. K.M. Pandurang, and other officers and employees from various departments.
