Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) Chandigarh, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India in association with NCC & NSS Cell, DAV College, Sector-10, and Youth Socialgram Foundation, solemnly observed Kargil Vijay Diwas at DAV College, Sector-10, to honour the valour and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1999 Kargil War.

The program began with paying homage to the brave martyrs of the Kargil War, followed by flag hoisting and rendition of the National Anthem, evoking a spirit of patriotism among all present. Dr. Nemi Chand, State NSS Officer, Chandigarh, and Mr. Vinay Kumar, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Chandigarh, addressed the gathering, motivating the youth to imbibe the values of courage, service, and unity exemplified by the Kargil heroes.

Adding a touch of inspiration, Retired Colonel Sunil Dutt Vashisth shared his personal experiences from his years in service, leaving the audience with a deeper understanding of the sacrifices made by the armed forces. The event also witnessed a spirited Tiranga Yatra across the college campus, plantation drives under the ongoing "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign, and vibrant poster-making and quiz competitions on the theme of the Kargil War, engaging students and volunteers in a meaningful tribute.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vinay Kumar, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Chandigarh, urged the youth to actively participate in nation-building initiatives and follow the ideals of the brave soldiers who safeguarded the nation’s integrity. The commemoration concluded with a collective pledge by all participants to work towards a Viksit Bharat (Developed India), inspired by the spirit of Kargil.
