Yudh Nashian Virudh: Cia Police Team Of Commissionerate Jalandhar Nabs 2 Accused With 1 Kg Heroin And 2 Pistols In Major Operation

Under the guidance of Commissioner of Police, Ms Dhanpreet Kaur, as a part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh”, the CIA Staff team has achieved a significant breakthrough. 

Acting under the leadership of Sh. Manpreet Singh Dhillon, DCP (Investigation), Sh. Jayant Puri, ADCP (Investigation), and Sh. Paramjit Singh, ADCP, the police team headed by Inspector Surinder Kumar, Incharge CIA Staff, apprehended two accused along with 1 kg of heroin, 2 illegal pistols .32 bore, along with 2 live cartridges. 

Sharing the details, CP Jalandhar, said that on 18.07.2025, the Police team of CIA Staff was conducting a nakabandi (checkpoint) operation as part of the anti-drug drive near Boharwala Chowk, close to Link Road, Kot Kala.

During the operation, the police apprehended a suspect and recovered 1 kilogram of heroin from his possession. The accused has been identified as Viney Kumar alias Mithu, (aged approx.  34 years), son of Ashish Pal, resident of H. No. 9, Street No. 8, Guru Nanak Nagar, near Nagra Railway Crossing, Jalandhar. 

A case has been registered against the accused under FIR No. 115 dated 18.07.2025, u/s 21(C)-61-85 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Cantt, Jalandhar. She further said that during the investigation, the involvement of another accused revealed Major Singh alias Major, son of Jaswinder Singh, resident of House No. 357/6, Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar, Basti Bawa Khel, Jalandhar. 

He was arrested on 19.07.2025, and upon his arrest, police recovered two illegal pistols (.32 bore) along with two live cartridges. As a result, Sections 25(1)(B), 54, and 59 of the Arms Act were also added to the FIR. She added that further investigation into their past activities and possible connections is currently underway.
