Administrator Reviews Bharat Net Progress in Punjab Under Digital India Mission

Under the Digital India Mission of Government of India, today Sh. Niraj Verma, IAS, Administrator (DBN), Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, New Delhi reviewed the progress of implementation of Bharat Net Scheme of DoT in the State of Punjab. 

In the subjected scheme, Government is committed to connect all villages digitally with Digital Bharat Nidhi, wherein all Public Institutes such Gram Panchayat, Public Health Centres, Schools, Cooperative Banks, Aganwadies, shall be connected with high speed internet services through FTTH. 

Thereafter, in the next Phase, village Level Udyamis will be brought on board for spreading Digital revolution for prioritising seamless connectivity with respect to education, banking, health, and logistic services. 

The Administrator further stressed that the Department of Telecommunication is committed to execute and implement the policies of Government of India throughout the nation. The Administrator appreciated the efforts of offices of CCA Punjab and ADG, Punjab LSA.
