The inaugural Vande Bharat train to Kashmir was today warmly received at Sangaldan Railway Station- one of the key stop point on the prestigious Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL).

The District Administration Ramban led by Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary and DIG DKR Range Shridhar Patil welcomed the train amidst patriotic celebrations. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi flagged off the train from Katra to Srinagar, formally inaugurating long-awaited rail connectivity to Kashmir.

SSP Kulbir Singh and SDM Gool Imtiaz Ahmed and several other officers were present for the historic occasion. The USBRL project, often described as an engineering marvel, finally bridges the geographical divide, connecting the Kashmir Valley to the national railway network.

The arrival of the Vande Bharat at Sangaldan marks a transformative moment for the region’s development and accessibility.
