In a significant step towards advancing technical education and digital skilling, the IIT Ropar Technology and Innovation Foundation (AWaDH) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government Polytechnic College Bhikhiwind, Tarn Taran, for setting up a Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) Lab under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS).
The upcoming CPS Lab will be a state-of-the-art facility, equipped with cutting-edge IoT devices, smart sensors, and industry-grade experimental kits. It will enable students and faculty to undertake over 100 real-world experiments in areas such as smart automation, intelligent systems, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
The initiative is designed to build capacity in emerging technologies, foster innovation, and improve employability in rural and semi- urban areas. IIT Ropar AWaDH acknowledges the leadership of Dr. Navneet Walia, Principal of the college, whose proactive efforts have been instrumental in enabling this collaboration. Special appreciation is extended to faculty members including Mr. Raman Kumar, Mr. Tarsem Singh, Ms. Harpreet Kaur, Mr. Dilpal Singh, and Mr. Satnam Singh for their support.
From IIT Ropar AWaDH, the initiative is being led by Dr. Pushpendra P. Singh, Project Director; Dr. Radhika Trikha, CEO, and Ms. Parry Sood, Program Manager, who are committed to strengthening industry-academia partnerships. This collaboration reinforces a shared vision of empowering youth with future-ready skills under the NM-ICPS mission.
