Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain visited the School of Eminence in Garhshankar today as part of the unique ‘School Mentorship Program’ launched by the Punjab Government. During her visit, she interacted with students, teachers, and the school administration, discussing ways to enhance the quality of education and improve student outcomes.

Speaking to the students, Ashika Jain emphasised that delaying hard work is equivalent to losing out on success. She said to the students that the effort they put in today will yield positive results in the future. She also motivated students to dream big and explore various career options.

The Deputy Commissioner announced that students would soon be divided into groups based on their individual interests. The school will be provided subject-specific study materials, and expert sessions will be organised to ensure students receive the necessary guidance to achieve their goals.

She exhorted that education today goes beyond just books. Students also need real-life understanding, exposure visits, and the use of modern technology to stay ahead in their studies. In addition to her interaction with students, Ashika Jain also spoke with teachers, encouraging them to adopt the latest teaching methods.

She stressed the importance of involving parents in school activities to create a supportive learning environment. Ashika Jain also shared her belief that students from government schools can dream big and achieve their dreams.

She stated that the ‘School Mentorship Program’ has the potential to take the government education system to new heights by offering practical guidance and career support to students. The program is inspired by the vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, who aims to encourage students to set high goals and receive strong mentorship from experienced officers like IAS and IPS officials.

These officers will guide students in their career paths, help improve school infrastructure, and bring innovation into education. District Education Officer Lalita Arora, School Principal Seema Budhiraja, and Secretary of the Red Cross Society Mangesh Sood were also present.
