Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya on Friday emphasized that administrative officers play a crucial role in strengthening the country’s structural framework and ensuring that government schemes for the poor, marginalized, and underprivileged reach the last person in line. He urged all officers to fulfill this national duty with an inclusive commitment, honesty, and resolute determination.

Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatreya made these remarks during a formal interaction at Raj Bhavan on Friday with five trainee IAS officers from the 2024–26 batch. He engaged with the officers in a detailed conversation about their training, aspirations, and experiences.

He extended his best wishes to all five officers – Ms Aditi Singhania, Mr Rahul Kanwaria, Ms Ruhani, Ms Suman Yadav, and Mr Yogesh Dhillhor – on their selection into the Indian Administrative Service and also inquired about their families.

Shri Dattatraya encouraged the officers to visit rural areas to gather ground-level insights and better understand the problems faced by the people. He stressed the need to ensure that the benefits of government schemes such as ration cards, pension programme, and housing for the needy are delivered timely and without hassle.

He reminded the officers that while political leaders serve for five years, the civil servants remain in the system for 30 to 32 years, offering them a long-term opportunity to serve the public. He advised the officers to deeply and clearly understand the needs of the people and to frame and implement welfare policies that ensure tangible benefits for the poor, farmers, labourers, women, and all those in need.

The Governor further stated that the officers have been entrusted with an important role in national service. Therefore, they should perform their duties with truthfulness, integrity, dedication, impartiality, and transparency. By upholding the dignity of their position through gracious conduct and exemplary work, they should not only establish a strong identity within the government and administration but also earn a special place in the hearts of the people.

Present on the occasion were Governor’s Secretary Mr Atul Dwivedi, ADC Mr Manpreet Singh, and other officials.
