The Sikhya Kranti – Education Revolution - started under the stewardship of Chief Minister Mr Bhagwant Singh Mann has created new milestones both in terms of quality of education as well as the infrastructure improvement.
The MP Sangrur Mr Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said this while addressing gathering of students and parents at the Government Senior Secondary Smart School for Boys Dhanaula. He inaugurated works worth Rs 82 lakhs in five different schools of Dhanaula.
Mr Meet Hayer said that Punjab government has always stood by its promise of providing the best to education sector. He said that due to Sikhya Kranti campaign many schools have got infrastructure that was non – existent but urgently needed.
He said that schools, especially girls’ school, faced severe problem of lack of toilets leading to discomfort for student. Similarly, many schools did not have proper boundary wall because of which stray animals entered into the school premises.
He added that for the past 75 years, the previous regimes had failed to provide even bare minimum to the schools. It was under the CM Mr Bhagwant Singh Mann that schools are getting a new facelift.
Besides this, schools are getting audio visual classrooms laced with LED TV, labs laced with best of equipment, sports kits, music rooms etc. he added that this was being done to ensure holistic development of the students.
The MP today inaugurated works worth Rs 82 lakhs in Government Primary School Dhanaula boys, Government Primary School Sanghar Patti Dhanaula, Government Primay School Bagehar Patti Dhanaula, Government Primay School Navin Basti and Government Smart Senior Secondary School for by Dhanaula.
Today works for construction of boundary wall as well as toilets was completed in all the four primary schools. At the GPS boys total works worth Rs 7.90 lakhs were done, at GPS Sanghar Patti works worth 2.88 lalkhs were done, at GPS Bagehar Patti works worth Rs 16.5 lakhs were done and at GPS Navi Basti works worth rs 20.24 lakhs were done.
Besides this rooms were constructed at Govt Smart School for Boys. MP said that the GPS Bagehar Patti has got a complete new makeover. This school was located around 6 feet deeper than the level of main road and often suffered problem of water logging, especially during the monsoon.
The school was provided funds worth Rs 16.5 lakhs for construction of three rooms and now the school wears a complete different and new look. The school caters to poor and down trodden sections of society who live nearby.
The students of GSSS Boys presented a cultural show at the event. They also presented a skit on Yudhh Nashiyan Viruddh and the government is helping addicts reform themselves. Prominent among others present included Harmandar Singh Brar Malwa zone coordinator, Gurjot Singh Bhathal chairman market committee Dhanaula, Sikhya coordinator Satnam Singh, Deputy DEO Dr Barjinder Pal Singh, BNO Harpreet Kaur, DSM Rajesh Kumar and others were also present.
