Punjab Finance Minister and senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Harpal Singh Cheema reached Karnal and paid tribute to Lt. Vinay Narwal, who was martyred in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The young officer was laid to rest with full state honors. Addressing the media, Harpal Singh Cheema expressed deep sorrow over the loss of a brave son of the nation.

He said, “Lt. Vinay Narwal’s martyrdom is a painful moment for the entire country. It is heart-wrenching to see the young lives of our soldiers cut short. The central government must take decisive action to ensure that such tragedies are not repeated.”

Cheema strongly condemned the attack and criticized foreign powers which are trying to disturb India's peace. “The Modi government must deliver a fitting response to foreign forces, including Pakistan, for their continued support of terrorism.

Tough measures are needed to prevent such cowardly acts and to protect the lives of our citizens and brave soldiers,” he asserted. Referring to the unprecedented targeting of tourists in the attack, Cheema called the incident a tragic and alarming escalation.

“This is the first time tourists have been specifically targeted, and it is an extremely unfortunate incident. The government must act swiftly and decisively to ensure the safety of all citizens and visitors,” he emphasized.

Harpal Singh Cheema also extended condolences to the bereaved family and assured them that the nation stands in solidarity with them. The Aam Aadmi Party leader reiterated the need for stringent security measures and a united front against terrorism.
