In continuation to the ongoing campaign, Yudh Nasheya Virudh, the District SAS Nagar Police got a major breakthrough by unearthing a fake unit of drugs used as steroids and supplements in Zirakpur, said Senior Superintendent of Police, Deepak Pareek here during a media briefing.
Divulging the details, the SSP said that on March 21, 2025, a police party has arrested an accused Lavish Grover from Flat No. 12 C, Shiva Enclave near Singhpura, Ziarkpur after a brief exchange of fire. He had fired three rounds of fire from his pistol when the Police knocked his door and in retaliation firing, he got injured by having an injury in his leg.
After searching his flat, the Police Party led by SHO Zirakpur, Jaskamal Singh Sekhon recovered 400 gram Opium with Drug Money of Rs 2.5 Lakh apart from illegal weapons and ammunition. Upon further interrogation, he revealed that he had handed over some quantity of Opium and an illegal weapon to his accomplice Gurpreet Singh village Shere of Sangrur District.
On getting the tip, when the Police Party raided the flat located at Orbit Apartment, Opposite Triple C Mall, VIP road Zirakpur and arrested the Gurpreet Singh (28) with a recovery of 800 Gram Opium and a .32 bore pistol with 02 Magazines and 12 live cartridges.
SSP further said on further revelation of the accused, a unit of fake Drugs/Supplements unearthed from the Flat 9-A, Shiva Enclave near Singhpura, Zirakpur. The big haul of fake drugs/supplements including 1,24,600 Tablets and 1, 75,000 Injection besides five types of packing and filling machinery.
He said that the drug haul contains 35 types of drugs misused as anabolic steroids in the market for bodybuilding. These drugs have been handed over to Drug Control Officers for further investigation and filing cases as per the provisions of Drugs and Cosmetic Act.
Detailing about the recovery from the accused Lovish Grover @ Lavi, SSP Deepak Pareek said that a pistol 30 MM with a magazine and 04 live cartridges, One Pistol Glock 9 MM with magazine and 02 live cartridges, a 12 bore double barrel Gun with 16 live cartridges, One Audi car bearing registration number CH01-AQ-1200, One Mercedes Car bearing registration number DL-3CBU-2828 and One Peugeot Car bearing registration number UP16- AB-0890 have been recovered.
He said that Lovish has a criminal past with 10 FIRs under heinous crime, Drug and Cosmetic Act, Arms Act and others at SBS Nagar, Ludhiana and SAS Nagar District. Lovish Grover is undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital at Derabassi, he further added. Police are investigating the backward and forward linkages of both the accused to get further information.
