Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain on Tuesday called upon the banks in the district to provide maximum credit to self help groups and young entrepreneurs to setup their own ventures. Expressing satisfaction over priority and non-priority sectors lending, Deputy Commissioner said that the district had registered 57.42 percent credit in priority sector against stipulated 40 percent and 84.73 percent in total loans including priority and non-priority sectors.
Holding a meeting to review the performance of banks under the lead bank of the district, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain stressed that the bankers should sensitise people especially the farmers, skilled youngsters, service sector and Government sponsored loan programmes so that they could take maximum advantage from these steps.
She also underscored the need to sanction loans under differential rate of interest scheme for poverty stricken families so as to give them a financial succour besides improving their living style. Aashika Jain also pointed out that banks should also provide insurance to poor families under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jiwan Jyoti Bima Yojana programmes.
Deputy Commissioner urged the bankers to further strengthen the CD ratio besides ensuring loans to start-ups and industrial units so that new industry could be setup leading to enhance the employment opportunities for youngsters. She also stated that the District Administration would extend all possible assistance to the banks for implementing the state and Central sponsored schemes in terms of providing loans to the eligible beneficiaries across the district.
Meanwhile, the District Lead Manager Chetan Joshi, LDO of RBI Sanjiv Singh briefed about the loan disbursement in the district. They said that Rs. 7286.91 Crore loan amount was disbursed till December 2024 including Rs. 4831.53 crore to priority sectors while Rs. 2455.38 crore for non-priority sectors.
DDM NABARD Rajat Chhabra and other officials concerned were present in the meeting.
