CGC Landran Students & Faculty Donate 250 Units of Blood at Rotary Club Camp

250 units of blood were donated by students and employees of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran at a blood donation camp organised by Rotary Club Chandigarh in association with the Department of Student Welfare, CGC Landran. 

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students and faculty members of the institution. The blood units would be donated to the Rotary and Blood Bank Society Resource Centre, sector 37, Chandigarh, a joint venture between Rotary Club Chandigarh and Blood Bank Society of Chandigarh.

The camp was inaugurated by Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran in the presence of Ms. Teena Virk, Director Youth Services, Rotary Club; Mr. Arun Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, Rotary Club and Gurvinder Sagoo, Director Community Service, Rotary Club Chandigarh; Director Rtn. Dr. Manish Rai, Dr. Roli Aggarwal, Blood Bank, Sector 37, Chandigarh; Deans and Directors from CGC Landran.

Expressing his appreciation for the initiative, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC Landran commended the donors for showing great enthusiasm for this noble initiative.  Ms. Teena Virk thanked the management, students and faculty members of CGC Landran including the Dean Student Welfare, Ms. Gagandeep Kaur Bhullar, for making the camp a huge success. 

Ms. Virk also shone a spotlight on the importance of donating blood in addition to underlining the commitment of Rotary and Blood Bank Resource Centre in sector 37 to helping people from all walks of life including those from economically weaker sections to get access to platelets and blood units, free of cost. 

The facility is open 24x7, she added. The blood donation camp sought to encourage the young adults to get involved in selfless social service in addition to making them understand the importance of donating blood which can go on to save many lives. A dedicated teams of doctors conducted pre-medical tests while taking care of different medical requirements at the camp.
