Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan reviewed the progress and implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in the district. The PMUY, launched by the Government of India, aims to provide free LPG connections to women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) households, ensuring a cleaner, safer, and healthier cooking environment.

During the meeting, DC Kishtwar issued the following directions to ensure the effective execution of the scheme, including Verification of the genuineness of the beneficiaries under the scheme, Issuance of notices to beneficiaries who have not refilled their LPG cylinders under the Ujjwala Scheme, Ensuring the proper verification of subsidy components for beneficiaries.

The meeting was attended by Shafqat Ali Keen, Assistant Director (AD) Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Kishtwar, along with Tehsil Supply Officers (TSOs), LPG distributors, and other concerned officials.

The DC emphasized the importance of the Ujjwala scheme in improving the quality of life for the people and directed all concerned departments to work in coordination to address any challenges and ensure the timely delivery of benefits to the eligible households.
