New World Skill Centre at Patiala to boost employment : Vikram Sahney

In a significant step towards empowering the youth of Punjab, the World Skill Center of Excellence in front of MC office, Patiala, under the aegis of Sun Foundation, was inaugurated by Aman Arora, Employment Generation Minister, Punjab, along with Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Speaker Punjab Assembly, Dr. Balbir Singh, Health Minister, Dharamvira Gandhi, MP Patiala, and Ajit Pal Kohli, MLA Patiala.

Chairman of Sun Foundation and MP Dr. Sahney informed that the state-of-the-art skill center will provide free-of-cost training to over 1,000 youth annually, ensuring job placements for local youth. The center offers cutting-edge courses including General Duty Assistant, Assistant Electrician, Assistant Beauty Therapist, BFSI-Bancassurance Relationship Associate, BFSI-Account Assistant, and Domestic Data Entry Operator.

Dr. Sahney stated that Our vision is to provide training to 10,000 youth annually through our various Skill Development Centers and adopted ITIs across Punjab. By providing modern skilling on cutting-edge machinery, we are bridging the gap between education and employment.

Dr. Sahney also underlined the importance of robust industrial connections to facilitate seamless job placements, stating, “This Skill Center will not only impart knowledge but will also ensure that trained students secure dignified jobs in reputed companies. Our holistic approach integrates hands-on training, mentorship, and job readiness, ensuring a bright future for our youth.”

Sh. Aman Arora lauded the initiative by stating that Skill development is the cornerstone of Punjab’s economic progress. This World Skill Center of Excellence is a major step in creating employment avenues for our youth, ensuring they are trained in modern technologies and have access to sustainable job opportunities. The government fully supports such initiatives that contribute to a skilled and empowered Punjab.

Praising Dr. Sahney’s dedication, Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan called him "Employment Man of India", Dr. Sahney's initiative is truly transformative for Punjab’s youth. The World Skill Center of Excellence in Patiala will play a crucial role in providing world-class training and employment opportunities, completely free of cost, which is highly commendable.

Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh stated that Dr. Sahney has set a remarkable example of social responsibility. By investing in skill development, he is not just training individuals but strengthening Punjab’s workforce and contributing to its economic growth. 

This Skill Center will be a beacon of hope for thousands of young aspirants.
