Er Baldev Singh Sran, CMD/PSPCL, on Sunday, hoisted National Flag at the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) HQ here to commemorate 76th Republic Day. Er Baldev Singh Sran took salute from the contingents and highly appreciated the cultural and other performances staged by the PSPCL employees.

In his address, he said Republic Day holds immense significance as it marks the day when the Constitution of India came into effect in 1950. This day symbolizes the transition of India from a British Dominion to a sovereign republic, ensuring democratic governance, equality, and justice for all its citizens.

The adoption of the Constitution not only laid the foundation for a modern nation but also affirmed the vision of leaders like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who played a pivotal role in drafting this monumental document. Republic Day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters who fought for India's independence and the values of liberty, unity, and secularism that bind the nation together.

He expressed his delight at the vibrant performances of bhangra and boliyan presented by the employees of the Commercial Team. He highlighted that these performances conveyed an important message to the public, urging them to refrain from power theft.

CMD further emphasised the need to raise awareness through such initiatives, encouraging people to neither offer nor accept bribes. Additionally, he stressed the importance of citizens understanding their responsibilities alongside their rights.

Among others, PSPCL Director Distribution Er DPS Grewal, Director/Commercial Er Ravinder Singh Saini, Director/Generation Er Harjit Singh and Director Admin Jasbir Singh Sur Singh were present.
