Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini while addressing a press conference on Monday to mark the successful completion of 100 days of the State government's third term said that the government's aim is to ensure that even the poorest person in the state has a house.

While working swiftly in this direction, our government has made a commitment to provide plots to 1 lakh poor families, measuring 100 square yard plots  in villages and 50 square yard plots in Mahagrams. Fulfilling this commitment, so far, 4,533 plots have been given in 61 Gram Panchayats and one Mahagram, shared  Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

Divulging more details he said, additionally, in the last 100 days of the present state government, financial assistance of Rs 11.53 crore has been provided under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban and Rural) to help 885 families build permanent homes.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has started the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana for poor families. Under this scheme, 15,256 poor families in 14 cities have been provided 30-square-yard plots. He further shared that under the PM Awas Yojana, 77,000 beneficiaries who had applied, have made provisions in the budget to enable them to build their homes.

Besides this, directions have been given to officers to conduct surveys for creating a list of new beneficiaries. While coming down heavily on the Opposition, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the Congress government promised to provide 100-square-yard plots to the poor, but neither they made any efforts to handover the papers of the promised plots to the beneficiaries  nor the possession.

Our government has understood the pain of the poor and worked to provide them with possession of plots, he added.Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the previous government played vote-bank politics with the poor, while the BJP government is working to empower and make the poor prosperous.
