With an aim to strengthen Government’s public outreach, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today presided over a Block Diwas programme at Block Hermain to assess the issues of the public.
On the occasion, several public issues including road connectivity to uncovered areas, better drinking water supply to the people, scheduled power supply, cleanliness of irrigation Khuls especially Tongri Nallah, augmentation of health infrastructure, augmentation of sports infrastructure, etc were projected by the people for redressal.
DDC member, M Maqbool also flagged off viral issues of public importance. The DC gave patient hearing to the demands raised by the people and assured the public that the issues shall be prioritised within norms.
He apprised the people about the recent government programs launched by the government for public welfare including Mission Yuva, PMAY, PM Surya Ghar, etc. He focused on cleanliness, water conservation, drug addiction among other social evils and sought public action and cooperation in addressing these issues.
While interacting with the public, the DC said that the Block Diwas is being organised with the sole objective to provide public-friendly and responsive administration to the people. ADC Shopian, ACR, SDM, District/ Sectoral & other officers besides people in large numbers participated in the Block Diwas programme.
