The Himachal Pradesh Lawyers Cricket Tournament-2025 was inaugurated yesterday evening at the International Cricket Stadium, Mohali. The four-day long event is being organised by the Lawyers Sports and Cultural Society of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, Shimla.

Member of Parliament and in-charge of Himachal Pradesh Congress and Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Rajiv Shukla graced the occasion as the chief guest. 

Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan and Principal Advisor (Innovation, Digital Technology and Governance) to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Gokul Butail were present as special guests.

Rajiv Shukla lauded the organizers for their commendable efforts in hosting this unique event. He said that the sports plays significant role in fostering mutual harmony and building personal relationships. 

He said that sports provide a vital platform to relieve the immense mental pressure faced in judicial work and enhance interpersonal connections across the judiciary. This event exemplifies the positive influence of such initiatives,” said Shri Shukla.

Harshwardhan Chauhan congratulated the Society for choosing the Mohali ground, known globally for its world-class facilities, as the venue. He highlighted the importance of active participation in sports and regular involvement in such activities which keeps individuals in the judicial process physically and mentally fit, active and cheerful.

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh extended his felicitations to the organizing committee. He underscored the need for such events to nurture the holistic development of individuals.

While lauding the efforts of the Society for organizing this event, Gokul Butail said that lawyers were instrumental in resolving complex issues of the common man and such events reinforce unity and harmony among them, which ultimately reflects in their professional excellence. 

He expressed hope that the event will get expansion in the years to come. The organiser of the Society Prashant Sharma shared detailed insights into the competition, highlighting its objectives and anticipated outcomes.

Various office-bearers from the Sports and Cultural Society, distinguished guests and other notable personalities were present on the occasion.
