Deepak Pareek IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, District SAS Nagar, informed the media that following the directions of Sh. Gaurav Yadav IPS, DGP Punjab, Sh. Harcharan Singh Bhullar IPS, DIG Ropar Range, SAS Nagar (Mohali) Police has arrested 02 members of Lakhvir Landa and Gurdev Singh alias Jaisal group who were carrying out robbery and extortion related incidents in various districts of Punjab.
Divulging the details, the SSP further said that on 08-01-2025, complainant Ekamdeep Singh Brar r/o Patiala along with his friend was chased by 03 unknown boys on a Splendour bike while they were coming from Patiala to Airport Road, Mohali.
The accused fired upon the complainant with their illegal weapons with an intention to kill and snatch away his car, hitting the complainant in his back and the left shoulder of his friend. One round was fired upon the car as well.
The accused fled from the incident on their motorcycle. Thereupon FIR no 05 dated 08.01.2025 u/s 109,126 (2), 3 (5) BNS, and u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act 1959 PS IT City was registered. A team under Dr Jyoti Yadav IPS SP (Investigation), Sh. Talwinder Singh PPS DSP (Investigation) and Insp Harminder Singh I/c CIA was constituted for the investigation of the case and with the help of technical and human intelligence, the case has been traced and 02 accused have been arrested.

1. Avtar Singh alias Vicky s/o Mukhwinder Singh r/o village Gurmukhan di Patti, Khadur Sahib, District Tarn Taran (age 21 years, 12th pass, Arrested on 15-01-2025)
2. Amarbir Singh s/o Jatinder Singh, r/o village Daffar di Patti, Khadur Sahib, District Tarn Taran, (Age 20 years, 11th pass, Arrested on 15-01-2025)
3. Anmol Singh alias Maula s/o Harjinder Singh r/o Village Waring Suba Singh, District Tarn Taran. (Yet to be Arrested)
Recovery :
1) 03 pistols.32 bore with 09 rounds.32 bore
2) 01 country pistol.32 bore with 02 cartridges
3) 01 country pistol.315 bore with 02 cartridges
4) Brezza Car, PB91-G-4016 (snatched from Sahnewal, Ludhiana)
Further details :
Upon interrogation, the accused disclosed having involved and wanted in cases in various districts.
All three accused came via bus from Khadoor Sahib to Rajpura to join protest at Shambhu border on 07.01.2025
1. They snatched a Splendour bike from a person after firing 2 rounds from Rajpura-Ambala highway, PS Shambhu. FIR no 04/2025 date 15.01.2025, PS Shambhu has been registered.
2. Then they came to Mohali and attempted the snatching of a car Etios Liva after firing 4 rounds. FIR no 05/2025, date 08.01.2025, PS IT City has been registered.
3. Then they snatched a Brezza car from the Sahnewal area in the morning around 7/8 am on 08.01.2025 after firing 2 rounds. FIR no 04/2025 date 08.01.2025, PS Sahnewal has been registered.
4. On 10.01.2025, they fired 9 rounds on one Sonu’s house in Mukerian at the behest of Lakhbir Landa following an extortion call for 1 cr. In this incident, accused Avtar and Anmol are involved along with 2/3 more persons. They used the Brezza car snatched from Ludhiana in this incident. FIR no 05/2025, date 10.01.2025, PS Mukerian.
5. Accused Avtar is also wanted in an FIR no 538/2024 date 16.12.2024, PS Goindwal Sahib, Tarn Taran (along with 5/6 others)
Accused Anmol is wanted in FIR no 171 dated 25-12-2024 u/s 304(1) BNS PS Kartarpur, Jalandhar Rural.
The accused are on 04 day police remand.
Further investigation is on in the case.
