Haryana Co-operation, Jails, Heritage and Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said that Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi has taken a historic step by completely replacing Lord Macaulay’s education system with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. During the Vedic era, scholars from around the world visited India to research under the Gurukul education system.

Today, the Prime Minister is promoting Indian languages, culture, skill development, and multidisciplinary education through this policy, aiming to restore India’s status as a global leader. He was addressing the teachers and parents of universities, colleges and schools of Sonipat, Panipat and Jind district in a conference organised on the topic of ‘National Education Policy 2020-Indian Education, Culture, Values and Your Suggestions’ at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal in Sonipat district today.

Meanwhile, extending his greetings on Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary and National Youth Day, Dr. Sharma said that Swami Vivekananda inspired the youth worldwide with his revolutionary ideas, encouraging them to awaken, struggle, and continuously learn. Today, Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi is implementing those ideologies.

The Co-operation Minister said that under the leadership of Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini and Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, the state has set an exemplary standard in implementing NEP-2020. He said that the policy ensures children learn in a pressure-free, engaging environment.

Dr. Sharma stated that educators should thoroughly study the policy and provide suggestions for its effective implementation. To facilitate this, an email ID, [email protected], has been created by the Murthal University for collecting feedback.

During the conference, Chairman, Higher Education Council, Dr. Kailash Chandra Sharma shared detailed information regarding the NEP 2020. Director, Elementary Education Haryana, Sh. R.S Dhillon shared the steps being taken by the government to implement the policy. Besides this, Vice-Chancellor, DCRUST, Murthal, Sh. Prakash Singh also gave insights about the NEP-2020.
