Westland Books, under its children’s imprint Red Panda, recently launched The Perfect Match, a delightful picture book by debut author Preeta Sukhtankar. The book was formally launched on 13 December at Crossword Bookstore, Kemps Corner, Mumbai. This story takes readers on a journey of hope, love and the emotions that create a family. Ace director-producer Karan Johar calls The Perfect Match “A story of finding love and choosing your family.”

The unveiling of the book was followed by a lively and engaging discussion on the topic ‘Finding Love and Choosing Your Family,’ moderated by actor Dia Mirza. The others on the panel included Stefano Funari, Founder and CEO of I Was a Sari, Mukta Dhond, a seasoned television producer and Renee Sen, a multi-talented actor, trained singer and Kathak dancer.

The Perfect Match is a poetic celebration of adoption through thoughtful storytelling and enchanting visuals. It revolves around the deep emotional connection between a parent and a child, showcasing a heartfelt perspective on family bonds. With its rhythmic narration and stunning illustrations, the book promises to be a delightful companion for bedtime stories and family storytime sessions.

Talking about her debut book Preeta Sukhtankar, the author, said, “As an adoptive mom, I lamented the absence of bedtime stories that truly reflect the beauty of families like ours. As my daughter grew, this gap became more evident, inspiring me to create something meaningful—a letter to families who share this unique journey. The Perfect Match was born out of a desire to make bedtime more inclusive, comforting and relatable, not just for our children but for all.”

Commenting about the book Vidhi Bhargava, Publisher, Red Panda added, “We are delighted to publish The Perfect Match, an essential read to introduce children to the beauty of diverse families and the unbreakable bonds of love. This unique flip book captures the journey of a child and a woman as they discover the true joy of belonging and creating a family.”
