Honorary Secretary of Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB) Upendra Singhal said that for the first time in International Gita Mahotsav, Gita Paath and Havan Yagna were organized on the ghats here for 18 days continuously.

These Havan Yagnas were concluded with complete 'Aahuti'. The echo of the teachings of these Havan Yagnas and Gita Paath was heard daily on the holy Brahma Sarovar. The important aspect is that these shlokas were recited daily in the morning from the information centre set up by the Department of Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture at stall number 1.

While talking to the media, the Honorary Secretary said that this time the religious and social organizations of the city were invited to perform Gita Paath and Havan Yagna on the ghats of Brahma Sarovar. On the request of KDB, these organizations performed Gita Paath and Havan Yagna in the morning on all the Ghats from 28th November to 15th December.

This effort was made for the first time by the Kurukshetra Development Board and it was quite successful. All the credit for this  goes to social workers and religious organizations, who organized Gita Paath and Havan Yagna for 18 days continuously. He said the teachings of the holy Gita need to be spread among the people.

An attempt was made to fulfill all these objectives through Havan Yagna and Gita Paath. Thus, in the coming years also such religious programmes will be organized on the ghats of Brahma Sarovar. Thousands of people ensured their participation in all these Yagnas, he added.
