The CEO, Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) chaired a detailed review of the ongoing IT-based parking system on Wednesday at the SMC headquarters. During the meeting, the CEO stressed the need to optimize both parking and no-parking zones to facilitate smoother traffic flow and enhance accessibility for residents and visitors.
This initiative aims to reduce congestion and create a more organized parking experience throughout the city. A key directive from the CEO was the implementation of real-time display boards at off-street parking facilities.
These boards will provide live updates on parking availability, enabling drivers to make informed decisions and minimizing the time spent searching for parking spaces. Additionally, the CEO underscored the importance of conducting public outreach activities and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) events.
These efforts are designed to educate the community about proper parking practices and address the challenges posed by improper parking, which can obstruct traffic and pose safety risks.
