Former chairman of Improvement Trust and Congress leader Dinesh Bassi staged a sit-in protest today against the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. Outside the office of ADCP City Harpal Singh located at Mal Mandi, Dinesh Bassi lashed out at the state government.
He said that today no class is safe in the state. He said that the government is giving security to gangsters while people are not safe even in their homes. Dinesh Bassi, who sat on a dharna with Congress workers in East constituency, said that the law and order has deteriorated badly.
Dinesh Bassi said that every village and city of Punjab is facing many problems due to the lax performance of law and order. These incidents of hooliganism and robbery have created an atmosphere of fear in the hearts of the common people. Due to which it is a matter of great concern for the common class and business class to feel safe outside their home and their business.
Due to the deteriorating law and order, the courage of the miscreants and robbers has increased so much that people are being murdered by entering their homes, due to which the normal life of the people has been badly affected. Despite seeing everything in front of its eyes, the law administration of the state is sitting idle and watching the spectacle.
Every day common people are being robbed on the road at gunpoint and businessmen are getting ransom threats. Due to which the life of the people of the state is going through an atmosphere of fear. He said that demanding ransom has become a common thing. The fear of law has gone out of the hearts of the criminals.
Even today ransom was demanded from Punjabi singer R Net, while the criminals of the late singer Sidhu Moosewale have not been caught even today, which is revealing the failures of the government. While handing over the memorandum to the ADCP, he said that he requests the police to take some concrete steps in this direction as soon as possible so that the common people can live their lives without any fear.
Block President and former councilor Navdeep Singh Hundal, who was present on the occasion, said that in the name of change, the state government has given such a Punjab where there is almost no peace and that is why he wants the Punjab government to return the old Punjab to them instead of giving a new Punjab. He said that if people are not safe then the state will not be able to progress.
On this occasion, Jatinder Mudhal, Satnam Mudhal, Iqbal Mudhal, Malhi Verka, Bobby Bhagat, Bittu Verka, Pawan Rana, Deepak Chatrath, Shinder Pardhan, Sandeep Shah, Balpreet Roger, Madam Inderjit Walia, Prem Verka, Rishabh Vohra, Abbas Raja and Yuvraj Majithia were present along with others.
