Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla inaugurated the International Minjar fair by hoisting the Minjar flag, accompanied by the melodious Kunjdi-Malhar songs. He said that the Minjar Fair, renowned for its rich folk culture, showcases the unique identity of Himachal Pradesh's culture, promoting brotherhood and fraternity.
He stressed on preserving these unique identities for the future generation.The Governor was speaking as a Chief Guest at the inauguration of the historic Minjar fair in Chamba district today. Lady Governor Janaki Shukla was also accompanying him.
Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Kuldeep Singh Pathania was also present on the occasion. The Governor hailed the Minjar fair as a remarkable example of deep-rooted connections with ancient folk traditions, beliefs, and faiths.
Highlighting a grave concern about the rising drug addiction in the State, the Governor emphasized the need for collective awareness and action against this evil. The preservation of culture and traditions is vital in countering anti-social elements trying to harm the society.
He also honoured the ex-servicemen for their exemplary services and also Veernaries on the occasion. Deputy Commissioner and President of the Mela Committee Mukesh Repaswal welcomed and honored the Governor on behalf of the organizing committee.
He highlighted the activities to be organized during the Minjar fair and also detailed about the historical background of the festival. He said that the first cultural night of Minjar fair would be dedicated to the martyrs who made supreme sacrifice for the Nation.
Superintendent of Police and Chairman of the Minjar Mela Sports Committee Abhishek Yadav also honored the Governor on behalf of the Committee. Minjar was presented to the Governor and Lady Governor on the occasion.
On behalf of the Mela Committee, the Deputy Commissioner also honoured Speaker, HP Vidhan Sabha Kuldeep Singh Pathania, MLAs Neeraj Nayar and D.S. Thakur. Earlier, he visited the ancient Lakshmi Narayan temple and sought blessings by presenting a Minjar.
Later, the Governor also inaugurated an exhibition put-up by various departments, boards and corporations to showcase the activities of the concerned departments and welfare schemes of the State Government. The Governor announced the formal commencement of the Minjar Mela Sports Competitions, contributing to the sense of enthusiasm and unity among the participants.
He also witnessed the Kabaddi match played between the girls' teams. He also distributed health equipments to the needy one through District Red Cross Society and also honoured blood donors. People in large numbers were also present on the occasion.
राज्यपाल शिव प्रताप शुक्ल ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय मिंजर मेले का शुभारंभ किया

राज्यपाल शिव प्रताप शुक्ल ने आज चंबा के ऐतिहासिक मिंजर मेले में बतौर मुख्यातिथि शिरकत की। उन्होंने मधुर कुंजड़ी-मल्हार गीतों की धुनों के बीच मिंजर ध्वज फहराकर मेले का औपचारिक शुभारम्भ किया। इस मौके पर लेडी गवर्नर जानकी शुक्ला, विधानसभा अध्यक्ष कुलदीप सिंह पठानिया और अन्य गणमान्य भी उपस्थित रहे।
राज्यपाल ने कहा कि अपनी समृद्ध परंपराओं के लिए प्रसिद्ध मिंजर मेला हिमाचल प्रदेश की अनूठी संस्कृति को प्रदर्शित करता है और भाईचारे और बंधुत्व की भावना को को बढ़ावा देता है। राज्यपाल ने मिंजर उत्सव को प्राचीन लोक परंपराओं, विश्वासों और आस्थाओं के साथ गहरे संबंधों का प्रतीक बताया।
उन्होंने प्रदेश में बढ़ रही नशे की लत को लेकर गंभीर चिंता व्यक्त की। उन्होंने इस बुराई के खिलाफ सामूहिक जागरूकता पर बल देते हुए कहा कि सभी को बुराई का एकजुट होकर सामना करना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि हमारी सामाजिक संरचना नुकसान पहुंचाने की कोशिश कर रहे असामाजिक तत्वों का मुकाबला करने के लिए संस्कृति और परंपराओं का संरक्षण बेहद महत्वपूर्ण है।
राज्यपाल ने इस अवसर पर पूर्व सैनिकों को उनकी अनुकरणीय सेवाओं तथा वीर-नारियों को भी सम्मानित किया। मेला कमेटी के अध्यक्ष एवं जिला चंबा के उपायुक्त मुकेश रेप्सवाल ने आयोजन समिति की ओर से राज्यपाल का स्वागत किया। उन्होंने मिंजर मेले के दौरान आयोजित की जाने वाली गतिविधियों और इसकी ऐतिहासिक पृष्ठभूमि के बारे में भी विस्तार से अवगत करवाया।
उन्होंने कहा कि मेले की पहली सांस्कृतिक संध्या देश के लिए अपना सर्वोच्च बलिदान देने वाले शहीदों के नाम समर्पित की गई है। पुलिस अधीक्षक और मिंजर मेला खेल कमेटी के अध्यक्ष अभिषेक यादव ने भी कमेटी की ओर से राज्यपाल को सम्मानित किया। इस अवसर पर राज्यपाल और लेडी गवर्नर को मिंजर भेंट की गई।
मेला कमेटी की ओर से उपायुक्त ने विधानसभा अध्यक्ष कुलदीप सिंह पठानिया और विधायक नीरज नैय्यर तथा डीएस ठाकुर को भी समानित किया। इससे पहले राज्यपाल ने प्राचीन लक्ष्मी नारायण मंदिर में मिंजर अर्पित कर माथा टेका और आशीर्वाद प्राप्त किया। राज्यपाल ने विभिन्न विभागों, बोर्डों और निगमों द्वारा सरकार की कल्याणकारी योजनाओं पर आधारित प्रदर्शनी का शुभारंभ भी किया।
राज्यपाल ने मिंजर मेला खेल प्रतियोगिता के शुभारम्भ की औपचारिक घोषणा की। उन्होंने लड़कियों की टीमों के बीच खेला गया कबड्डी मैच भी देखा। उन्होंने जिला रेडक्रॉस सोसायटी के माध्यम से जरूरतमंदों को स्वास्थ्य उपकरण वितरित किए तथा रक्तदाताओं को सम्मानित भी किया। इस अवसर पर गणमान्य व्यक्ति और भारी संख्या में लोग मौजूद थे।
