The Haryana government is taking a significant step to enhance road safety across the state by extending the CCTV-based City Surveillance System to all 19 remaining districts. Currently, the system is operational in Gurugram, Faridabad, and Karnal.
This was disclosed by Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. TVSN Prasad after presiding over the 7th meeting of the Fund Management Committee established under the Haryana Road Safety Fund Rules, 2018. A total of Rs. 19 crore has been approved for the purchase of equipment (including cameras, servers, and software), as well as for installation and maintenance in the districts.
Focus on Road Safety and Infrastructure
The state government has allocated funds for road safety initiatives. The Secondary Education Department will receive Rs. 1.06 crore to promote road safety awareness among students through poster-making competitions and teacher training. The Transport Department has been allotted Rs. 30 lakh for the procurement of e-challan machines.
Strengthening Road Safety Committees
Chief Secretary also said that District Road Safety Committees will be allocated Rs. 11.46 crore to ensure effective implementation of road safety measures. These funds will support various critical safety measures, including the installation of infrastructure such as signboards and cat eyes, comprehensive awareness campaigns in schools and communities, and improvements to emergency response systems.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Town & Country Planning, Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (B&R) and Architecture Department, Sh. Anurag Agarwal, Commissioner & Secretary, Urban Local Bodies, Sh. Vikas Gupta Principal Secretary, Transport Department, Sh. Navdeep Singh Virk, besides other senior officers were present.
हरियाणा के 19 जिलों में सड़क सुरक्षा को मजबूत करने के लिए सिटी सर्विलांस सिस्टम का विस्तार

हरियाणा सरकार प्रदेश भर में सड़क सुरक्षा बढ़ाने के लिए सीसीटीवी आधारित सिटी सर्विलांस सिस्टम का शेष सभी 19 जिलों तक विस्तार करने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठा रही है। वर्तमान में, यह प्रणाली गुरुग्राम, फरीदाबाद और करनाल में संचालित है।
यह जानकारी हरियाणा के मुख्य सचिव श्री टी.वी.एस.एन. प्रसाद ने आज यहां हरियाणा सड़क सुरक्षा निधि के तहत स्थापित कोष प्रबंधन समिति की 7वीं बैठक की अध्यक्षता करते हुए दी। बैठक में उपकरणों (कैमरे, सर्वर, सॉफ्टवेयर) की खरीद के साथ-साथ स्थापना और रखरखाव के लिए 19 करोड़ रुपये की राशि स्वीकृत दी गई।
सड़क सुरक्षा और बुनियादी ढांचे पर खास ध्यान
राज्य सरकार ने सड़क सुरक्षा पहलों के लिए भी बजट आवंटित किया है। माध्यमिक शिक्षा विभाग को पोस्टर बनाने के लिए प्रतियोगिताओं और शिक्षक प्रशिक्षण के माध्यम से छात्रों में सड़क सुरक्षा जागरूकता को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 1.06 करोड़ रुपये आवंटित किए गए हैं। इसके अलावा, परिवहन विभाग को ई-चालान मशीनों की खरीद के लिए 30 लाख रुपये आवंटित किए गए हैं।
सड़क सुरक्षा समितियों को सुदृढ़ बनाना
मुख्य सचिव ने बताया कि सड़क सुरक्षा उपायों का प्रभावी कार्यान्वयन सुनिश्चित करने के लिए जिला सड़क सुरक्षा समितियों को 11.46 करोड़ रुपये आवंटित किए गए हैं। यह धनराशि विभिन्न महत्वपूर्ण सुरक्षा उपायों के लिए खर्च की जाएगी, जिसमें साइन बोर्ड और कैट आई जैसे आवश्यक बुनियादी ढांचे की स्थापना, स्कूलों और समुदायों में व्यापक जागरूकता अभियान चलाना और आपातकालीन प्रतिक्रिया प्रणालियों (ई.आर. एस.) में सुधार शामिल हैं।
इस अवसर पर नगर एवं ग्राम नियोजन तथा शहरी संपदा विभाग के अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव श्री अरूण कुमार गुप्ता, लोक निर्माण (भवन एवं सड़क) एवं वास्तुकला विभाग के अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव श्री अनुराग अग्रवाल, परिवहन विभाग के प्रधान सचिव श्री नवदीप सिंह विर्क, शहरी स्थानीय निकाय विभाग के आयुक्त एवं सचिव श्री विकास गुप्ता, परिवहन विभाग के आयुक्त श्री यशेन्द्र सिंह, आईजी ट्रैफिक श्री हरदीप सिंह, आईजी अम्बाला श्री सिबास कविराज सहित अन्य विभागों के अधिकारी भी मौजूद रहें।
