Started with an aim to sensitize the youth about drugs and engage them in sports activities, a two-day Football tournament by Khanna Police concluded on Saturday. SSP Amneet Kondal, addressing the people, stated the police have already launched a crackdown against drugs menace and stern action is being taken against peddlers.
She mentioned that such sports events are being held to sensitise people about the harmful impact of drugs. “The motive is to enhance the interest of the youth in sports activities,” she added. Meanwhile, the Football Training Centre (FTC), Khanna won first prize, FTC Machhiwara, FTC Daoumajra won second and third prizes. Taran Grewal (from Football Training Centre team, Khanna) was adjudged as player of tournament.
The tournament had 10 male teams and two female teams. The First prize was Rs 11000 with trophy, second prize was be Rs 5100 and Trophy, and Rs 3100 and Trophy was given as third prize. Certification of participation as well as team Jersey were also given to all participants by Police.

ਖੰਨਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਡ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਦੋ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਫੁੱਟਬਾਲ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਸਮਾਪਨ ਹੋਇਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਐਸ.ਐਸ.ਪੀ. ਅਮਨੀਤ ਕੋਂਡਲ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਸ਼ਿਕੰਜਾ ਕੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤਸਕਰਾਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਸਖਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਖੇਡ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮਕਸਦ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁਚੀ ਵਧਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਫੁੱਟਬਾਲ ਟਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਸੈਂਟਰ (ਐਫ.ਟੀ.ਸੀ.), ਖੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾ, ਐਫ.ਟੀ.ਸੀ. ਮਾਛੀਵਾੜਾ, ਐਫ.ਟੀ.ਸੀ. ਦਾਊਮਾਜਰਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਇਨਾਮ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ।
ਤਰੁਨ ਗਰੇਵਾਲ (ਫੁੱਟਬਾਲ ਟਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਟੀਮ, ਖੰਨਾ) ਨੂੰ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਦਾ ਸਰਵੋਤਮ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਵਿੱਚ 10 ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਸਨ। ਪਹਿਲਾ ਇਨਾਮ 11000 ਰੁਪਏ ਟਰਾਫੀ, ਦੂਜਾ ਇਨਾਮ 5100 ਰੁਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਇਨਾਮ 3100 ਰੁਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ ਪੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਟੀਮ ਜਰਸੀ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
