A delegation of Nations Development Association (NDA), led by Swarn Singh Charak, Founder cum Chairman, Sushil Singh Charak, Founder cum General Secretary, and Deepak Singh Charak, Finance Secretary, met with Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India Ramdas Athawale, to request resolution of long-standing issues faced by Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) employees.

The delegation highlighted the following key issues. Corporation status without benefits: Despite being converted to a corporation in 1976, employees have not received due benefits, leading to demoralization and poverty. No Dearness Allowance parity: Employees are not receiving Dearness Allowances at par with other government departments, as JKRTC manages salaries from its own resources without government support. Pending 7th Pay Commission benefits: Employees are still on the 6th pay commission, with reduced Dearness Allowance rates, resulting in lower salaries compared to other government departments.

Retired employees' pending benefits: Retiral benefits like gratuity, Leave Salary, Arrears of 6th pay commission, and other benefits are still pending, forcing retired employees to protest and strike for their demands. The delegation respectfully requested the Minister to resolve these pending demands and provide benefits equivalent to other state Road Transport Corporations, enabling JKRTC employees to live a respectful and dignified life.
