The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Earth Sciences, MoS PMO, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space and MoS Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh unveiled the results of the 15th round of the Australia-India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF).
The successful projects that have been awarded funding under the prestigious program were announced today through a press note. The Australia-India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF) is a bilateral program that supports collaborative research projects between Australia and India. It aims to strengthen the scientific relationship between the two countries and address common challenges through joint research efforts.
This year, the AISRF has awarded funding to five projects across various disciplines, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, biotechnology, urban mining and electronic waste recycling, ultralow-cost solar and clean hydrogen technologies. These projects were selected through a rigorous evaluation process, ensuring they meet the highest standards of scientific excellence and have the potential for significant impact.
The selected projects reflect the diverse and cutting-edge research being conducted by Australian and Indian scientists. These initiatives are expected to yield valuable insights and solutions that will benefit both countries and the wider global community.

The Australia-India Strategic Research Fund has delivered more than 360 collaborative research projects in the past 18 years, ensuring our nation’s universities and research institutions have remained at the forefront of global research."
Funding for this year focused on:
Creating an AI-driven platform for monitoring soil carbon sequestration.
Eco-friendly recovery of essential metals from obsolete mobile devices.
Cost-effective solar thermal desalination by systems design with nanomaterials.
Harnessing the immune system's power to combat antimicrobial resistance.
Advanced diagnostics and innovative therapeutics to detect and combat microbial infections.
The Indian recipients are the Punjab Remote Sensing Centre, Ludhiana; IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IISc Bangalore and AbGenics Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. Pune.

केंद्रीय विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार), पृथ्वी विज्ञान राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार), प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय में राज्य मंत्री परमाणु ऊर्जा विभाग और अंतरिक्ष विभाग तथा कार्मिक, लोक शिकायत और पेंशन, डॉ. जितेंद्र सिंह ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया-भारत रणनीतिक अनुसंधान कोष (ए.आई.एस. आर.एफ.) के 15वें दौर के परिणामों की जानकारी दी।
आज एक कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया जिसमें एक प्रेस नोट के माध्यम से सफल वित्त पोषित परियोजनाओं की घोषणा की गई। ऑस्ट्रेलिया-भारत रणनीतिक अनुसंधान कोष (ए.आई.एस.आर.एफ.) एक द्विपक्षीय कार्यक्रम है जो ऑस्ट्रेलिया और भारत के बीच सहयोगी अनुसंधान परियोजनाओं का समर्थन करता है। इसका उद्देश्य दोनों देशों के बीच वैज्ञानिक संबंधों को सुदृढ़ करना और संयुक्त अनुसंधान प्रयासों के माध्यम से चुनौतियों से निपटना है।
वर्तमान वर्ष में ऑस्ट्रेलिया-भारत रणनीतिक अनुसंधान कोष ने कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता और मशीन लर्निंग, जैव प्रौद्योगिकी, शहरी खनन और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक अपशिष्ट पुनर्चक्रण, न्यूनतम लागत वाली सौर और स्वच्छ हाइड्रोजन प्रौद्योगिकियों सहित विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में पांच परियोजनाओं को वित्त पोषित किया है। इन परियोजनाओं का चयन एक कठोर मूल्यांकन प्रक्रिया के माध्यम से किया गया था। ये परियोजनाएं वैज्ञानिक उत्कृष्टता के उच्चतम मानकों पर खरी उतरती हैं।
चयनित परियोजनाएं ऑस्ट्रेलियाई और भारतीय वैज्ञानिकों द्वारा किए जा रहे विविध और अत्याधुनिक अनुसंधान को दर्शाती हैं। इस क्षेत्र में की जा रही इन पहलों से मूल्यवान अंतर्दृष्टि और समाधान की आशा है जिससे दोनों देश और व्यापक वैश्विक समुदाय लाभान्वित होंगे। डॉ. जितेंद्र सिंह ने अनुसंधान और नवाचार में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सहयोग के महत्व पर बल दिया।उन्होंने कहा कि इस आधुनिक युग में महत्वपूर्ण वैश्विक चुनौतियों से निपटने और सतत विकास को बढावा देने के लिए सहयोग का होना महत्वपूर्ण है।
ऑस्ट्रेलिया-भारत रणनीतिक अनुसंधान कोष भारत और ऑस्ट्रेलिया के बीच स्थायी साझेदारी का प्रत्यक्ष प्रमाण है। मुझे पूर्ण विश्वास है कि जो परियोजनाएं सहयोग के परिणामस्वरूप उभर कर आई हैं वे आपसी हित के क्षेत्रों में महत्वपूर्ण वैज्ञानिक खोज और प्रौद्योगिकी क्षेत्र में प्रगति करेंगी। ऑस्ट्रेलिया के साथ एक नवाचार पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र के निर्माण के लिए हमारी प्रतिबद्धता व्यक्त करते हुए, मैं एक समृद्ध और चिरस्थायी भविष्य के लिए इन परियोजनाओं से जुड़े सभी शोधकर्ताओं को बधाई देता हूं।
इस अवसर पर ऑस्ट्रेलिया के उद्योग और विज्ञान मंत्री एड हुसिक ने कहा कि दुनिया में जटिल विषयों की कमी नहीं है। राष्ट्रों के बीच सहयोग से वैज्ञानिक सफलताएं हासिल की जा सकती है। बैक्टीरिया के कठिन उपभेदों से लेकर ई-अपशिष्ट और कृत्रिम बुद्धिमता तक, हमारी द्विपक्षीय अनुसंधान साझेदारी ऑस्ट्रेलिया के प्रतिभाशाली वैज्ञानिकों को विश्व की वर्तमान और उभरती चुनौतियों के लिए बेहतर समाधान प्रदान करती है। ऑस्ट्रेलिया-भारत रणनीतिक अनुसंधान कोष ने विगत 18 वर्षों में 360 से अधिक सहयोगी अनुसंधान परियोजनाओं पर कार्य किया हैं, जिससे यह सुनिश्चित होता है कि हमारे देश के विश्वविद्यालय और अनुसंधान संस्थान वैश्विक अनुसंधान में अग्रणी रहे हैं।
इस वर्ष के लिए वित्तपोषण निम्नलिखित परियोजनाओं पर केन्द्रित है:
मृदा कार्बन पृथक्करण की निगरानी के लिए एआई-संचालित प्लेटफॉर्म का निर्माण करना।
अप्रचलित मोबाइल उपकरणों से आवश्यक धातुओं की पर्यावरण-अनुकूल पुनर्प्राप्ति।
नैनोमटेरियल के साथ सिस्टम डिजाइन द्वारा लागत प्रभावी सौर तापीय विलवणीकरण।
रोगाणुरोधी प्रतिरोध से निपटने के लिए प्रतिरक्षा प्रणाली की शक्ति का उपयोग करना।
सूक्ष्मजीव संक्रमण का पता लगाने और उससे निपटने के लिए उन्नत निदान और नवीन चिकित्सा।
भारत की ओर से वित्त पोषित परियोजनाओं के प्राप्तकर्ता पंजाब रिमोट सेंसिंग सेंटर, लुधियाना; आईआईटी दिल्ली, आईआईटी बॉम्बे, आईआईएससी बैंगलोर और एबजेनिक्स लाइफ साइंसेज प्राइवेट लिमिटेड, पुणे हैं।
