A book on The Punjab Right to Services Act, 2011 (As applicable to UT Chandigarh) along with rules, list of notified services and judgments, compiled by Ajay Jagga, Additional Standing Counsel, UT, was today released by Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Banwarilal Purohit in the Punjab Raj Bhawan, in the presence of Jatinder Pal Malhotra, BJP President.
The book is based on the law related to the delivering of services to citizens which is the most important and critical function of the Government. The three essential pillars of service delivery are timeliness, quality, and grievance redressal. Consequently, the concept of timely public service delivery has emerged as a key factor in the economic growth of any country.
"The introduction of the Citizen Charter marked a significant shift in the definition and concept of services, transforming the role of the government from a provider to a facilitator and regulator of public services. This movement has ensured transparency, accountability, and a citizen-centric approach in administration, maintaining citizen satisfaction and trust in the government," said Ajay Jagga.
"The adoption of The Punjab Right to Services Act guarantees time-bound delivery of public services provided by the Chandigarh Administration to citizens and establishes a mechanism to ensure this. The Administration deserves commendation for effectively implementing this law," he further said.
"This should aid the Administration in further improving service delivery efficiency and help citizens receive the services promised by the Administration. In case of any grievances, the Act provides a mechanism for grievance redressal through appellate authorities and, if necessary, the Hon'ble Commission. It is hoped that all stakeholders will thoroughly review this compilation and make the best use of the legislation in a positive manner, " he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Malhotra said, "This is a unique book on the law related to services provided to citizens. It will go a long way in making people aware about all the laws concerning them. It will help them know what are their rights in this regard."

पंजाब के राज्यपाल एवं चंडीगढ़ के प्रशासक बनवारीलाल पुरोहित ने आज पंजाब राजभवन में भाजपा अध्यक्ष जतिंदर पाल मल्होत्रा की उपस्थिति में अजय जग्गा द्वारा संकलित पंजाब सेवा अधिकार अधिनियम, 2011 (जैसा कि यूटी चंडीगढ़ पर लागू है) पर एक पुस्तक का विमोचन किया। पुस्तक नागरिकों को सेवाएं प्रदान करने से संबंधित कानून पर आधारित है, जो सरकार का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण और महत्वपूर्ण कार्य है।

यह लोगों को उनसे संबंधित सभी कानूनों के बारे में जागरूक करने में सहायक सिद्ध होगी। इससे उन्हें यह जानने में मदद मिलेगी कि इस संबंध में उनके क्या अधिकार हैं।"
