Punjab State Traders’ Commission Member Vineet Verma reiterated that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government is committed to providing a safe environment for the traders in Punjab and no one would be spared to curb unlawful activities in the state. Visiting the Phase 10, Mohali Jewellery Shop that was robbed by two unidentified persons yesterday at gunpoint, he expressed solidarity with the aggrieved family and gave assurance of the tracing of the accused at the earliest possible by the District Police.
Mr Verma said that he has already had a word with the SSP Dr Sandeep Garg on this issue and he has given assurance that the culprits would be soon behind the bar and the Police Teams are already after them. Reiterating the commitment of the Punjab Government to zero tolerance against the bad elements and law offenders, he said that the Commission has also taken strong notice of the incident that happened in broad daylight and to ensure that no such untoward incident took place in future, a proper strategy would be devised with the help of Police so that the traders would not face such incidents.
He said that no leniency would be shown to the criminals and the enhanced proper security arrangements and patrolling would be done by the Police in the busy areas of the city. He said that the Project of City Surveillance and Traffic Management System is underway in the city that would further help to the secure and safe environment for the city dwellers with the functioning of High quality 401 cameras that are being installed on 20 locations.

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਟਰੇਡਰਜ਼ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਵਿਨੀਤ ਵਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਦੁਹਰਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾੜੇ ਅਨਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਫੇਜ਼ 10, ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਦੀ ਜਿਊਲਰੀ ਸ਼ਾਪ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੋ ਅਣਪਛਾਤੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਨੋਕ 'ਤੇ ਲੁੱਟ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ, ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੀੜਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਹਮਦਰਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਲਦ ਤੋਂ ਜਲਦ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਵਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਮੁੱਦੇ ’ਤੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਐਸਐਸਪੀ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਸੰਦੀਪ ਗਰਗ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਸਲਾਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭੈੜੇ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਜ਼ੀਰੋ ਬਰਦਾਸ਼ਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਹਰਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਦਿਨ-ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨੋਟਿਸ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਅਣਸੁਖਾਵੀਂ ਘਟਨਾ ਨਾ ਵਾਪਰੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਉਚਿਤ ਰਣਨੀਤੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਵਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਪਰਾਧੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਕੋਈ ਢਿੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਰਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਰੁਝੇਵਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਪੁਖਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਗਸ਼ਤ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਟੀ ਸਰਵੀਲੈਂਸ ਅਤੇ ਟ੍ਰੈਫਿਕ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਲਗਭਗ 401 ਕੈਮਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
