The people of the villages are now also joining in the decisive fight against drugs started by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan. Today, on the occasion of International Anti-Drug Day, the people of 133 villages of Fazilka district took an oath to make their villages drug-free by passing resolutions to report drug dealers to the police and to provide treatment to drug addicts to support the administration in this fight.
Villagers in five blocks of Fazilka district have taken this new initiative by passing panchayat resolutions. Often in the villages, due to mutual community or mutual proximity, no one was ready to report the bad elements involved in drug trafficking, but now people have decided to break this tradition.
In the past, the people of Khubban village had freely shared such information with the police and the police immediately took legal action in the village. In this regard, in the resolutions passed by the villages, where the people of the villages have taken a pledge against the bad elements, at the same time, the people have also decided to encourage the people suffering from drug addiction to seek treatment.
Upkar Singh of Kilianwali village said that many people did not come forward for treatment because if they went to the hospital, the police would catch them. Now we as a panchayat will encourage such people to get treatment to de-addiction from drugs. Gurpal Singh of Chak Khiowali and Baljit Singh of Chak Radhewala said that when the people and the administration will work together, the rate of success is bound to increase.
District Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal welcomed this initiative of the villagers and said that the administration will help the villagers in every possible way. She said that drug addicts will be given free treatment in government health institutions, while strict action will be taken against the bad elements while keeping the identity of the informers of drug dealers confidential.
District Development and Panchayat Officer Gurdarshan Lal said that 15 villages in Fazilka block. 25 villages in Jalalabad block, 35 villages in Khuiyan Sarwar block, 30 in Abohar block and 28 in Arniwala block have passed panchayat resolutions to fight against drugs.

ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ: ਭਗਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਆਰੰਭੀ ਫੈਸਲਾਕੁੰਨ ਲੜਾਈ ਵਿਚ ਹੁਣ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਜੁੜਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ। ਅੱਜ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਦਿਵਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਫਾਜ਼ਿਲਕਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ 133 ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਣ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵੇਚਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਅਤੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਤੋਂ ਪੀੜਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਮਤੇ ਪਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਸ ਲੜਾਈ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਦ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਫਾਜ਼ਿਲਕਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਬਲਾਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਚਾਇਤੀ ਮਤੇ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਨਵੀਂ ਪਹਿਲ ਕਦਮੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਅਕਸਰ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਸੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਜਾਂ ਆਪਸੀ ਨੇੜਤਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੋਈ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਅਨਸਰ ਦੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਦੇਣ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਰਵਾਇਤ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜਨ ਦਾ ਸੰਕਲਪ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਪਿੰਡ ਖੁੱਬਣ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੇਝਿਜਕ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।
ਹੁਣ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਰਤਾਰੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਪਿੰਡ ਵੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣਗੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਚਾਇਤੀ ਮਤੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵੇਚਣ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਣਗੇ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣਗੇ। ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਾਏ ਗਏ ਮਤਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਹਿਦ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਦੀ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਪੀੜਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇਲਾਜ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਸੰਕਲਪ ਵੀ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਪਿੰਡ ਕਿਲਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਉਪਕਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਲਾਜ ਲਈ ਅੱਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਫੜ ਲਵੇਗੀ। ਹੁਣ ਅਸੀਂ ਪੰਚਾਇਤੀ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਛੱਡਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ।
ਚੱਕ ਖਿਓਵਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਰਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਚੱਕ ਰਾਧੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਦੇ ਬਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਦੀ ਦਰ ਵੱਧਣੀ ਲਾਜਮੀ ਹੈ। ਓਧਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਡਾ: ਸੇਨੂ ਦੁੱਗਲ ਨੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਪਹਿਲ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਹਰ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਛੱਡਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਸੰਸਥਾਂਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਇਲਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਦ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵੇਚਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਗੁਪਤ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਾੜੇ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਸ਼ਖਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਲੜਾਈ ਵਿਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਆ ਜੁੜਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੁਣ ਸਾਡੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਕਈ ਗੁਣਾ ਵੱਧ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਗੁਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਲਾਲ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਫਾਜ਼ਿਲਕਾ ਬਲਾਕ ਵਿਚ 15, ਜਲਾਲਾਬਾਦ ਬਲਾਕ ਵਿਚ 25 ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਚਾਇਤੀ ਮਤੇ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। ਬੀਡੀਪੀਓ ਗਗਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਖੂਈਆਂ ਸਰਵਰ ਬਲਾਕ ਵਿਚ 35, ਅਬੋਹਰ ਬਲਾਕ ਵਿਚ 30 ਅਤੇ ਅਰਨੀਵਾਲਾ ਬਲਾਕ ਵਿਚ 28 ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਲੜਾਈ ਵਿੱਢਣ ਦੇ ਪੰਚਾਇਤੀ ਮਤੇ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।
