Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Dr Rakesh Minhas, conducted a thorough inspection of the arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath Ji Yatra 2024 at Lakhanpur today. Accompanied by ADDC Kathua Surinder Mohan, DC State Taxes, Pardeep Manhas ( Nodal Officer, Lakhanpur Facilitation Centre), ADC Kathua Ranjit Singh ( Overall Nodal Officer SANJY), CPO Kathua Ranjit Thakur, the DC assessed the designated reception areas and civic amenities being prepared for the arriving pilgrims at the Lakhanpur entry point.

The DC directed the Executive Officer of the Lakhanpur Municipal Committee to ensure that all toilet complexes are fully functional and any necessary repairs are completed before the yatra begins. Additionally, he instructed the PWD Department to expedite the managing of logistics for setting up Lakhanpur Facilitation Centre, ensuring timely completion.

The DC also took first hand appraisal of amenities coming up for Yatra like Drinking Water points, Toilets, Health Centre, RFID counters etc. Emphasizing the importance of a smooth experience for the pilgrims, the DC said, "Every effort will be made to transform the Lakhanpur facilitation center into a multi-facility hub catering to all needs of the incoming yatris and devotees."

Highlighting the steps taken by the district administration, DC Minhas outlined several measures, including augmented lodging facilities to accommodate 12500 yatris, the installation of twelve RFID counters for registration, clean lavatories, and entertainment arrangements for the pilgrims at Lakhanpur.
