Second Randomisation allocates Constituencies to the Counting Personnel

19 Counting Teams including 5 reserved against each Constituency deputed

To ensure fair and transparent counting of Lok Sabha Elections-2024 in all the three assembly segments of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district, the second randomization of counting teams was done today to allocate the constituencies to the counting staff in the presence of Mohammad Avesh, the counting observer deputed by the ECI.

Divulging the details, the District Electoral Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain said that each constituency has been allocated with 19 including 5 reserved against the 14 counting tables. The counting for Kharar and SAS Nagar assembly segment is being carried out at Government Polytechnic, Khooni Majra Kharar while for Derabassi at Punjabi University, Patiala.

She further said that the counting teams have been asked to report to the counting centres at 5:00 am where another final session of randomization would be done to allocate the counting tables to the teams. The Deputy Commissioner said that training for the counting process has already been imparted to the counting personnel so that smooth and uninterrupted counting of votes on EVMs could be done in a timely. 

The Counting will start at 8:00 am tomorrow. Additional District Election Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner Viraj S Tidke, Tehsildar Election Sanjay Kumar and District Information Officer Smt Anu Gupta were also present during the randomization process of counting teams.
