In order to ensure a trouble-free, fair and transparent polling on Saturday, the Mohali Administration kept a close eye on the live polling through the District level Webcasting Control Room set up at the district administrative complex, here. During visit to the webcasting control room, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Mrs Aashika Jain said that those entire polling exercise at all 825 polling booths was monitored lively through the huge screen installed in the room besides 20 computers with facility of high-speed internet for steady transmission of visuals from all these polling booths.
Mrs Jain said that CCTV cameras have been installed in all booths for live webcasting and these are connected with high-speed internet to ensure uninterrupted streaming of voting exercise through which Chief Electoral Officer and ROs and AROs can monitor the process sitting from their offices. She said that this exercise not only helps prevent any malpractice but would also help to check voters standing in the queues, polling process in real-time etc.
District Nodal Officer Khushdil Singh, PCS, Estate Officer (Housing) GMADA, added that the District Webcasting Control Room has been equipped with all the latest connectivity techniques in live streaming. The Control Centre ensures that the security arrangements should not be compromised at polling booth, to speed up the polling process in case there were long queues of voters amid heat wave, maintaining privacy of casting of vote and keep the record in case of any future litigation, he added.
Deputy Commissioner said that the control center has been playing pivotal role in ensuring free, fair and transparent elections. All the activities of polling staff and voter queues outside the booth have been keep under surveillance starting from the first vote till the last polled vote.

ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਤਦਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਵਿਘਨ, ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਰਦਰਸ਼ੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਨ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਵੈਬਕਾਸਟਿੰਗ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਰੂਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਲਾਈਵ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ’ਤੇ ਨੇੜਿਉਂ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖੀ। ਅੱਜ ਵੈਬਕਾਸਟਿੰਗ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਰੂਮ ਦੇ ਦੌਰੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ-ਕਮ-ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ 825 ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਰੂਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਾਈ ਗਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਕਰੀਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਜ਼ੂਅਲ ਦੇ ਸਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਣ ਲਈ ਇੰਟਰਨੈਟਹਾਈ ਸਪੀਡ ਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਵਾਲੇ 20 ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਲਾਈਵ ਵੈਬਕਾਸਟਿੰਗ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੂਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਸੀ ਟੀ ਵੀ ਕੈਮਰੇ ਲਗਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਵੋਟਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਵਿਘਨ ਸਟ੍ਰੀਮਿੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਹਾਈ-ਸਪੀਡ ਇੰਟਰਨੈਟ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਚੋਣ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਰ.ਓਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਏ.ਆਰ.ਓਜ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਫ਼ਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੜਬੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਬਲਕਿ ਕਤਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ, ਅਸਲ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਆਦਿ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਨੋਡਲ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਵੈਬਕਾਸਟਿੰਗ ਖੁਸ਼ਦਿਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪੀ ਸੀ ਐਸ, ਅਸਟੇਟ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ (ਹਾਊਸਿੰਗ) ਗਮਾਡਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਵੈਬਕਾਸਟਿੰਗ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਰੂਮ ਲਾਈਵ ਸਟ੍ਰੀਮਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਵੀਨਤਮ ਕਨੈਕਟੀਵਿਟੀ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸ ਹੈ। ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਝੌਤਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਗਰਮੀ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੰਬੀਆਂ ਕਤਾਰਾਂ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰਨ, ਵੋਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਗੁਪਤਤਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਸ਼ੱਕ-ਸ਼ੁਬ੍ਹੇ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ, ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਰਦਰਸ਼ੀ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੂਥ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਤਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵੋਟ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਭੁਗਤਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਵੋਟ ਤੱਕ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਰੱਖੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
