District Electoral Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain today completed the supplementary randomization of EVMs in the presence of representatives of Political parties, today at District Informatics Centre, District Administrative complex, SAS Nagar, Mohali. She said that post commissioning procedure of EVMs it was found that there is need to replace the non-functional EVMs and to complete the reserve stock of 20 percent at each constituency.
The Deputy Commissioner said that there are total 825 booths in the district in Kharar, SAS Nagar and Derabassi constituencies, where each EVM to be attached with two ballot units because of exceeding of number of candidates (One ballot unit can have name of 16 candidates including NOTA) contesting from Anandpur Sahib and Patiala parliamentary constituencies.
She said that Kharar has 278 booths, SAS Nagar 249+2 (auxiliary booths) and Derabassi 291+5 (auxiliary booths) in the district. ADC (G) Viraj S Tidke, SDM Mohali Depankar Garg, Nodal Officer for EVMs Aashish Kathuria, Tehsildar Election Sanjay Kumar were also present during the randomization.

ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ-ਕਮ-ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਕੇਂਦਰ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ, ਐਸ.ਏ.ਐਸ ਨਗਰ, ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਈ.ਵੀ.ਐਮਜ਼ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਕ (ਸਪਲੀਮੈਂਟਰੀ) ਰੈਂਡਮਾਈਜੇਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਈ.ਵੀ.ਐਮਜ਼ ਦੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਿੰਗ (ਮਤਦਾਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਾ) ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਹ ਪਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਰਜਸ਼ੀਲ ਈ.ਵੀ.ਐਮਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਹਲਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ 20 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਰਾਖਵੇਂ ਸਟਾਕ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ।
ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਰੜ, ਐਸ.ਏ.ਐਸ.ਨਗਰ ਅਤੇ ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ 825 ਬੂਥ ਹਨ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਆਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸੰਸਦੀ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੋਣ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵੱਧ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਰੇਕ ਈ ਵੀ ਐਮ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ-ਦੋ ਬੈਲੇਟ ਯੂਨਿਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ (ਇੱਕ ਬੈਲਟ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮੇਤ ਨੋਟਾ 16 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ)। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਰੜ ਵਿੱਚ 278, ਐਸ ਏ ਐਸ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ 249+2 (ਸਹਾਇਕ ਬੂਥ) ਅਤੇ ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਵਿੱਚ 291+5 (ਸਹਾਇਕ ਬੂਥ) ਹਨ।
ਰੈਂਡਮਾਈਜੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਏ ਡੀ ਸੀ (ਜੀ) ਵਿਰਾਜ ਐਸ ਟਿੜਕੇ, ਐਸ ਡੀ ਐਮ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਦੀਪਾਂਕਰ ਗਰਗ, ਈ ਵੀ ਐਮਜ਼ ਲਈ ਨੋਡਲ ਅਫਸਰ ਆਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਕਥੂਰੀਆ ਤੇ ਤਹਿਸੀਲਦਾਰ ਚੋਣ ਸੰਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
