The District Election Officer (DEO) Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman on Saturday conducted a comprehensive inspection of Election Strong Room, Control Room, MCMC and Postal Voting Counter established at Mini Secretariat Bandipora. Accompanied by Dy.DEO Mohammed Rafeeq Bhat, ACD Mumtaz Ahmad Pir, the DEO took firsthand appraisal regarding the  functioning of Election Control Room and MCMC besides took stock of arrangements at Strong Room and Postal Voting Counter.

During the visit to MCMC, the DEO emphasized concerned to keep  close watch on the election-related posts being put up on all the platforms including print, electronic and social media. He also undertook an inspection of EVM and Material Strong Room established at Mini Secretariat Bandipora where the electronic voting machines (EVMs) and other election materials are stored securely.

Reviewing EVM and Material Management, the DEO emphasized to ensure adherence to Election Commission guidelines. He also inspected preparations and arrangements at the Postal Voting counter established at Mini Secretariat Bandipora.

He directed the concerned officers to ensure that the postal voting process runs smoothly and transparently besides ensuring that every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast their ballot securely and without any hindrance. The DEO during his visit to Election Control Room emphasized the crucial role of Election Control Room in inter-departmental coordination and timely dissemination of election related communications and quick response to public queries on call.

He also reviewed the coordination mechanisms, communication systems and contingency plans in place to address any logistical challenges or emergencies during the voting process.
