Storyline And Screenplay:

Shayar is a tale of timeless love of Satta (Satinder Sartaaj) who falls in love with Shayari recited by Seero (Neeru Bajwa) in a shrine. Satta follows the shrine to have a glimpse of the girl but only manages to have a look of her eyes. Finally after meeting her he wants to become a Shayar and in that journey they fall in love but will these passionate lovers unite and Satta be able to become a Shayar will be disclosed in the film.

The screenplay of the film is flawlessly executed, keeping the audience engaged from start to end. Never we felt disconnected with the film and every element introduced early on seamlessly ties into the conclusion. Each and every scene served a purpose which was fully achieved. A special acknowledgment goes to the captivating manner in which the title of the movie graced the screen.

Acting:

Shayar is a film just made for Satinder Sartaaj who in just his second punjabi film has proved his worth as an actor. He effortlessly commanded the screen with his unforgettable performance. Turning theatres into a zone of Shayari was only possible because of this man's presence in the film. He has lived the character and journey of Satta but we can't take away the credits from Neeru Bajwa the way she anchored herself alongside Sartaaj was commendable.

Kewal Dhaliwal, Yograj Singh, Deepak Niaz, Bunty Bains flawlessly captures the essence of the character they have to play. Kewal Dhaliwal has shown his experience as an theatre artist and did a great job. Yograj Singh, a consistent performer, continues to impress with his portrayal. Deepak Niaz's dedication shines through, particularly evident in his portrayal of a qawali singer.

The film had some special cameos from Debi Makhsoospuri, Simran Chahal, Pawan Johal, Malkeet Rauni, Rupinder Rupi, Sukwinder Chahal and everyone’s charter was so perfectly planned and displayed and it never felt anything was forced. They did a brilliant job.

The film featured notable cameos from Debi Makhsoospuri, Simran Chahal, Pawan Johal, Malkeet Rauni, Rupinder Rupi, Sukwinder Chahal, and each character was seamlessly integrated into the narrative. Each actor delivers a commendable performance especially Debi Makhsoospuri, Simran Chahal and Sukhwinder Chahal.

The film also features undisclosed cameos that add an extra layer of excitement, as each cameo role seems tailor-made for the performer. It's a testament to the team's meticulous planning and casting choices. Kudos to the team for their thoughtful execution of these surprise appearances.

Writer And Director:

During the Shayar press conference, Writer Jagdeep Singh Warring unveiled that the narrative of Shayar wasn't solely crafted by him; rather, it was a collaborative effort, enriched by the input of his father and the dedication of Satinder Sartaaj. Clearly the idea and efforts paid off and this captivating tale will stand the test of time, leaving an indelible mark for generations to come.

Adding more to this Jagdeep Singh Warring also said that his story got the required justice from Director Uday Pratap Singh. Clearly Uday Pratap Singh has given us a cinema for life. The film leaves us yearning for more even after the credits roll. The way things came to us was quite amazing, evident from the audience's enthusiastic applause at numerous occasions throughout the film.

Shayari And Music:

Shayari penned by Satinder Sartaaj transports audiences to a realm where every line resonates with the whispers of the heart and the echoes of the soul. Yet, each time we believe we've witnessed his finest, he surprises us with something even more exceptional. For now, however, it's safe to say that this portrayal stands as his best yet.

Shayari accompanied with some soulful and romantic songs were icing on the cake. The songs were more in numbers but felt little for us as every song had a meaning striking the chords of their hearts multiple times throughout the film. Background score had a sound of Satinder Sartaaj which felt mesmerising everytime it was used in the film.

Conclusion: Shayar Movie Review

Overall, "Shayar" marks a significant milestone in Punjabi cinema, being the first film to explore the realm of shayari, offering audiences a unique and enriching cinematic experience never experienced before.

Team 5 Dariya News Gives 5 Stars to the film Shayar. Deduction was possible till interval but it all got together till credits rolled.
