Under the inspiration and guidance of Shri Banwari Lal Purohit, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Union Territory Chandigarh, the Foundation Day of Himachal Pradesh was celebrated with great pomp at Punjab Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh. The Governor extended greetings to all the guests present at the function and said that Himachal Pradesh is a state which is known for its cultural and historical importance.
Its people, their rich heritage and diverse communities deserve praise for their unity and strength. Shri Purohit said that through 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat', mutual familiarization among the people of the states, spirit of unity, diverse traditions, art, culture, costumes and foods are also exchanged. He said that every state has a unique identity, and the unity in diversity of states is the strength of India.
Despite this diversity, we are all one which is the specialty of India. He said that Himachal Pradesh is not only famous for its history and culture, but it is also famous all over the world for tourism. On this occasion, we all have got the opportunity to understand and know how the people of the state have made this ancient land a center of prosperity and prestige. On the occasion, a captivating presentation of folk music and dances of Himachal Pradesh was also presented which mesmerized the guests present.
The dignitaries present on the occasion included Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor of Punjab, Shri K. Siva Prasad, Advisor to the Administrator UT Chandigarh, Sh. Rajeev Verma ,Home Secretary, UT Chandigarh Sh.Nitin Kumar Yadav and DGP UT Chandigarh, Sh. Surendra Singh Yadav, President of Himachal Mahasabha, Pirthi Singh Prajapati was also present along with members of Himachal Mahasabha .
पंजाब राजभवन में मनाया गया हिमाचल प्रदेश स्थापना दिवस

पंजाब के राज्यपाल एवं केंद्र शासित प्रदेश चंडीगढ़ के प्रशासक श्री बनवारी लाल पुरोहित की प्रेरणा एवं मार्गदर्शन में पंजाब राजभवन चंडीगढ़ में हिमाचल प्रदेश का स्थापना दिवस धूमधाम से मनाया गया। राज्यपाल ने समारोह में उपस्थित सभी अतिथियों को शुभकामनाएं देते हुए कहा कि हिमाचल प्रदेश एक ऐसा राज्य है जो अपनी सांस्कृतिक एवं ऐतिहासिक महत्ता के लिए जाना जाता है।
यहां के लोग, उनकी समृद्ध विरासत और विविध समुदाय अपनी एकता एवं शक्ति के लिए प्रशंसा के पात्र हैं। श्री पुरोहित ने कहा कि ‘एक भारत श्रेष्ठ भारत’ के माध्यम से राज्यों के लोगों में आपसी परिचय, एकता की भावना, विविध परंपराएं, कला, संस्कृति, वेशभूषा एवं खान-पान का आदान-प्रदान भी होता है। उन्होंने कहा कि हर राज्य की अपनी एक अलग पहचान होती है और राज्यों की विविधता में एकता ही भारत की ताकत है।
इस विविधता के बावजूद हम सब एक हैं जो भारत की विशेषता है। उन्होंने कहा कि हिमाचल प्रदेश न केवल अपने इतिहास और संस्कृति के लिए प्रसिद्ध है, बल्कि यह पर्यटन के लिए भी पूरे विश्व में प्रसिद्ध है। इस अवसर पर हम सभी को यह समझने और जानने का अवसर मिला है कि किस प्रकार प्रदेश के लोगों ने इस प्राचीन भूमि को समृद्धि और प्रतिष्ठा का केंद्र बनाया है। इस अवसर पर हिमाचल प्रदेश के लोक संगीत और नृत्यों की मनमोहक प्रस्तुति भी दी गई, जिसने उपस्थित अतिथियों को मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया।
इस अवसर पर उपस्थित गणमान्य व्यक्तियों में पंजाब के राज्यपाल के अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव श्री के. शिव प्रसाद , यूटी चंडीगढ़ के प्रशासक के सलाहकार श्री राजीव वर्मा, यूटी चंडीगढ़ के गृह सचिव श्री नितिन कुमार यादव और यूटी चंडीगढ़ के डीजीपी श्री सुरेन्द्र सिंह यादव के साथ हिमाचल महासभा के अध्यक्ष पिरथी सिंह प्रजापति भी हिमाचल महासभा के सदस्यों के साथ उपस्थित रहे।
