As part of proactive initiative to bolster confidence and encourage participation in the democratic process, General and Police Observers for Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency interacted with first-time voters in border areas of Hiranagar and Kandli belt of Jasrota Assembly segments. Pertinently, both Hirangar and Jasrota Assembly segments falls under Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency which is scheduled to go for polls on April 19.

Amidst the vibrant landscapes of Border and Kandi belts, the Observers engaged in meaningful dialogues with the young electorate, emphasizing the pivotal role each vote plays in fortifying the democratic fabric of the nation. The visit was extended beyond customary boundaries as both the Observers were very keen to paid a visit to the polling station of these constituencies, accentuating the essence of inclusivity and accessibility in the electoral process.

The interactions, predominantly with young voters, were geared towards fostering a deep-seated understanding of the significance of their vote, elucidating how each ballot cast contributes towards shaping the course of the nation’s future. In the spirit of confidence-building measures, the Observers underscored the importance of active participation, instilling a sense of responsibility and ownership among the electorate, especially the first-time voters.

General Observer, Dheeraj Kumar and Police Observer Daljeet Singh expressed profound satisfaction at the enthusiasm and receptiveness exhibited by the young voters, reaffirming their unwavering commitment towards strengthening the democratic ethos of the nation. Observers while sharing their experiences said the visit to the border areas of Hiranagar Assembly segment and some polling station of Jasrota constituency shall be seen as the Election Commission’s unwavering resolve to ensure an inclusive and participatory electoral process, thereby upholding the sanctity of democracy.

Later, General and Police Observers also undertook crucial visits to critical and sensitive polling stations situated in the Hiranagar and Jasrota Assembly Constituencies. While engaging with local authorities and law enforcement agencies, the Observers reinforced the imperative of bolstering security measures and ensuring seamless coordination to mitigate any potential disruptions or irregularities during the electoral proceedings.

During the Visit Observers visited Jasrota constituency where they touched multiple Polling station including MS Ghatti and HSS Barwal and PS Cheela, the last Polling Station of Jasrota Assembly segment where Observers took stock of the infra including Assured Minimum Facilities as mandated by ECI to be given to each Voter. Observers also visited border belt Polling Stations including Londi, Kadyala and Pansar, Hiranagar.
