Senior Superintendent of Police Rupnagar Mr. Gulneet Singh Khurana IPS while giving information in the press conference said that, the district police arrested 03 members of the gang who robbed a shopkeeper at Nurpur Bedi within 24 hours. While disclosing more in this regard, Mr. Gulneet Singh Khurana stated that Manoj Kumar Joshi, a resident of Nurpur Bedi, who runs a confectionery and mobile phone shop at Bhaddi Road, on March 26, 2024 at around 10:30 pm, when he went inside the shop to close it, around 04-05 persons, whose faces were covered, rushed into his shop and 02 persons were attacked on him with blunt weapon.
They took away his .22 bore license revolver and also looted Rs.19,500 from his shop. He said that on the basis of Manoj Kumar Joshi's statement, teams of CIA in charge Rupnagar Manfool and S.H.O Nurpurbedi Harsh Gautam were formed to arrest the persons who carried out the incident and a case No. 19 dated 27-03-2024 u/s 323, 458, 397 was registered.
He further said that police teams had investigated the case in a scientific and technical manner under which 03 members of this gang Jagdeep Singh alias Babbu Bajwa resident of Rahon, Jaskiran Singh alias Jassa resident of Rotan Mohalla Rahon and Jaskaran Singh resident of Rahon were arrested on 27 March, 2024. In this case, the arrest of 02 persons is pending and raids are being conducted to catch them.
SSP said that this conspiracy was hatched by this gang after returning from Hola Mahalla and .22 bore license revolver and Alto car PB 32V 7376 used in the incident have been recovered from them. He said that the leader of this gang is Jagdeep Singh alias Babbu Bajwa, who is a professional criminal and has previous cases of robbery and murder. Arrested persons were being interrogated, from whom more important clues are likely to come out.
