The inaugural phase of randomization for Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024 took place in Doda today. The process was overseen by District Election Officer (DEO), Harvinder Singh in presence of senior officials and political party representatives.

The randomization aims to allocate Ballot Units, Control Units, and VVPATs for AC-51, AC-52, and AC-53, comprising a total of 529 polling centers. The total 739 number of EVMs were allotted for three assembly constituencies in the district

DEO, Harvinder Singh, on the occasion, emphasized that the objective of randomization is to ensure transparent and impartial elections, devoid of human interference, facilitated by dedicated software. Prior to the randomization, political representatives were briefed on the process, with assurances from the DEO regarding the implementation of necessary measures to uphold the integrity of  electoral process.

Following  randomization, EVMs will be transferred to secure strong rooms within their respective constituencies, where they will be under rigorous security and surveillance. Subsequent phases will entail further randomization for the allocation of EVMs to individual polling stations. This meticulous approach underscores the commitment to conducting free and fair elections in the region.
