Dr. B R Ambedkar state institute of medical sciences, Mohali and CSIR-IMTECH , Chandigarh signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), today, to “Collaborate and carry out state of the art research through development and exchange of research, training and projects in areas that complement each other in healthcare theme.”
“It has been seen that adherence to academic textbooks and the atmosphere of hospitals limits the medical students from engaging in activities beyond the medical curriculum. This collaboration is likely to be useful in assigning elective postings to medical students during their 3rd year at AIMS Mohali which has now been made mandatory as per the latest NMC guidelines for a multidimensional exposure of medical graduates in the fields of research and clinical practice along with broadening the scope of multidisciplinary research among the two institutions, “ said Dr Bhavneet Bharti, Director Principal of the AIMS, by adding that elective courses will be taken based on students’ personal interests or academic goals in a small-group learning setting.
Four representatives from CSIR-IMTECH including Director IMTECH Dr Sanjeev Khosla visited AIMS, Mohali for the signing of the document. Other dignitaries included Dr Karthikeyan Subramanian, Dr Dibyendu Sarkar and Mr Manuj Tripathi. From AIMS, Mohali, Director Principal Dr. Bhavneet Bharti, Medical Superintendant AIMS, Dr Navdeep Singh Saini , Dr Ashish Goel , Dr Shalini Gupta and Dr Diljot Sandhu were also present.
The signing ceremony began after a brief presentation and discussion about the future prospects of collaboration and the documents were duly signed in the presence of two witnesses followed by exchange of documents. The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks.

ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਭਵਨੀਤ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਪਾਠ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਪਾਠਕ੍ਰਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਸੀਮਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਸਟੇਟ ਇੰਸਟੀਚਿਊਟ ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਤੀਸਰੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਣਵੇਂ ਪੋਸਟਿੰਗ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਭਦਾਇਕ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਜੋ ਹੁਣ ਖੋਜ ਅਤੇ ਕਲੀਨਿਕਲ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਹੁ-ਆਯਾਮੀ ਐਕਸਪੋਜਰ ਲਈ ਨਵੀਨਤਮ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਦੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ-ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਦੋ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਬਹੁ-ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨੀ ਖੋਜ ਦੇ ਦਾਇਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਏ ਆਈ ਐਮ ਐਸ ਦੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਭਵਨੀਤ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਚੋਣਵੇਂ ਕੋਰਸ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਰੁਚੀਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਟੀਚਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਛੋਟੇ-ਸਮੂਹ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਸੈਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਸੀ ਐੱਸ ਆਈ ਆਰ-ਆਈ ਐਮ ਟੈੱਕ, ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਚਾਰ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਆਈ ਐਮ ਟੈੱਕ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਸੰਜੀਵ ਖੋਸਲਾ ਨੇ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ 'ਤੇ ਹਸਤਾਖਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਏ ਆਈ ਐਮ ਐਸ, ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੋਰ ਪਤਵੰਤਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਕਾਰਤੀਕੇਅਨ ਸੁਬਰਾਮਨੀਅਨ, ਡਾ. ਦਿਬਯੇਂਦੂ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਾਨੁਜ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਾਠੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।
