Hundreds of women from different parts of Shimla district today met Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at Oak-Over, Shimla and expressed their gratitude for providing Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi. The Chief Minister said that the state government has fulfilled its fifth election guarantee by implementing the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana.
He said that the state government was committed to the welfare of every section of the society and many innovative initiatives and schemes were being implemented. The government has fulfilled five of its guarantees in just 13 months of its regime, the first being providing OPS to benefit 1.36 lakh government employees he said adding further that Rajiv Gandhi Start-up Scheme of Rs 680 crore was launched with the objective of providing self-employment opportunities to the unemployed youth so as to encourage entrepreneurship.
He said that the government has also made a historic increase in the support price of cow and buffalo milk and in the support price of wheat and maize to promote natural farming. The Chief Minister said that the state government faced various challenges arising due to the disaster last year with determination and was continuously making efforts to strengthen the economic condition of the state and has taken several initiatives to enhance its resources.
The State Government has adopted a zero tolerance towards corruption, he reiterated. Mayor Municipal Corporation Shimla Surinder Chauhan expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister and urged to set up Shimla Haat in the town.
Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries Sunder Singh Thakur and Ram Kumar Chaudhary, Vice Chairman State Planning Board Bhawani Singh Pathania, MLA Vinod Sultanpuri, Vice Chairman HIMUDA Yashwant Chhajta, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, OSD to the Chief Minister Ritesh Kapret and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

शिमला जिला के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों से आई सैंकड़ों माताओं और बहनों ने आज ओक-ओवर, शिमला में मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू से भेंट की और इंदिरा गांधी प्यारी बहना सुख सम्मान निधि प्रदान करने के लिए उनका आभार व्यक्त किया। इस अवसर पर मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू ने कहा कि इंदिरा गांधी प्यारी बहना सुख सम्मान निधि योजना लागू कर प्रदेश सरकार ने अपनी पांचवीं चुनावी गारंटी पूरी की है।
उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश सरकार समाज के हर वर्ग के कल्याण के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है और इस दिशा में अनेक नवोन्मेषी पहल और योजनाएं लागू की जा रही हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश सरकार ने सत्ता सम्भालते ही 1.36 लाख सरकारी कर्मचारियों को ओपीएस का लाभ देकर अपनी पहली चुनावी गारंटी पूरी की है। इससे सेवानिवृत्ति के उपरान्त सरकारी कर्मचारियों का सम्मानजनक जीवन सुनिश्चित हुआ है।
प्रदेश सरकार ने बेरोजगारों को स्वरोजगार के अवसर प्रदान करने और उद्यमिता को प्रोत्साहित करने के उद्देश्य से 680 करोड़ रुपये की राजीव गांधी स्टार्ट-अप योजना आरम्भ की है। सभी सरकारी स्कूलों में पहली कक्षा से अंग्रेजी माध्यम शुरू करने की गारंटी पूरी करने के साथ-साथ गाय व भैंस के दूध की खरीद के लिए समर्थन मूल्य घोषित करने की पहल के साथ ही देशभर में इसके मूल्य में एतिहासिक वृद्धि की है।
प्राकृतिक खेती को बढ़ावा देने के लिए गेहूं और मक्का का न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य लागू किया है। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि प्रदेश सरकार ने आपदा के कारण उपजी विभिन्न चुनौतियों का दृढ़ता से सामना किया और राज्य की आर्थिक स्थिति को मजबूत करने के लिए निरन्तर प्रयासरत है।
प्रदेश सरकार ने भ्रष्टाचार के प्रति शून्य सहष्णिुता की नीति अपनाई है और अपने राजस्व संसाधनों को बढ़ाने के लिए अनेक पहल की हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार ने शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य और अन्य सभी क्षेत्रों में बुनियादी ढांचे को मजबूत करने के अलावा ग्रामीण अर्थव्यवस्था को सुदृढ़ करने के लिए कई ठोस कदम उठाए है।
महापौर नगर निगम शिमला सुरेन्द्र चौहान ने मुख्यमंत्री का आभार व्यक्त करते हुए शिमला में शिमला हाट स्थापित करने का आग्रह किया। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश सरकार अनेक योजनाएं लागू कर प्रदेश के हर वर्ग को लाभान्वित करने का प्रयास कर रही है।
इस अवसर पर शिक्षा मंत्री रोहित ठाकुर, मुख्य संसदीय सचिव सुन्दर सिंह ठाकुर व राम कुमार चौधरी, राज्य योजना बोर्ड के उपाध्यक्ष भवानी सिंह पठानिया, विधायक विनोद सुल्तानपुरी, हिमुडा के उपाध्यक्ष यशवंत छाजटा, उप-महापौर उमा कौशल, मुख्यमंत्री के ओएसडी रितेश कपरेट और अन्य गणमान्य उपस्थित थे।
