The Udhampur Press Club, representing local journalists from the district, announced its newly elected leadership on Sunday. The election resulted in Sumit Sharma, Managing Director of JK Channel Udhampur, taking the helm as President, alongside Pankaj Saraf, Managing Director of Media 1 Channel and Bureau Chief of Dainik State Samachar, who was elected as Vice President.
The decision was made during a general assembly of Udhampur district journalists.Ashish Dutt of JK Channel has assumed the role of General Secretary, while Ashwani Sharma, Bureau Chief of Early Times Udhampur, was elected Secretary.
The position of Joint Secretary went to Arun Sharma, Deputy Bureau Chief of Dainik State Samachar. Aaftab Hindustani of Jammu Rising News will serve as the Treasurer/Chief Account Officer. Vinay Sharma, Bureau Chief of Raftar Samachar, was appointed as the District Spokesperson, with Advocate Rahul Jandial stepping in as the Legal Advisor.
Sumit Sharma, the newly elected President, expressed his commitment to enhancing the welfare of the journalist community and improving the functions of the Udhampur Press Club. He vowed to meet the expectations of club members, contribute significantly to the journalist fraternity's welfare, and ensure effective coordination with the Civil and Police administration for the greater good of the public.
